Major throwback post today! 10 years ago, a very shy, awkward 16 year old started her hairdressing apprenticeship and had no idea where life would take her (or why her mum insisted on taking photos, but I’m so glad she did now). A decade later (with a 4 year ‘wtf am I doing in life’ break included) I’m proud of how far I’ve come. From growing my skills in hair and also socially, to building my little business and going self-employed, I couldn’t have done any of it without my mum by my side. Forever grateful for her belief in me for being my biggest supporter❤️
I remember washing that much hair I developed dermatitis, and having absolutely no clue what to talk to any of the women about because the only life experience I had was going to house parties with my mates. I had zero self-belief and genuinely didn’t think anyone wanted me to do their hair… but luckily the clients had no choice because my mum would just write their name in my column and force us both into the experience.
But thank god she did because look at me now with all you beautiful lot for clients, keeping me thriving and busy!🤩
