We wouldn’t announce that we had climbed to the top of The Empire State Building- but there’d be signs 👀

There is a A LOT of misinformation being spread online about SPF. So let’s clear it up from a MEDICAL standpoint!

▫️There was some talk online about SPF containing Benzene. This caused some SPF products to be recalled. This was because of contamination - not a deliberate inclusion of bad ingredients

▫️”SPF can be absorbed into your bloodstream” - well, sure. A lot of things at a molecular level can be absorbed into the bloodstream. But that doesn’t automatically mean it’s harmful or cancer-causing

▫️”Skin Cancer is on the rise despite people wearing it”. Correlation doesn’t equal causation!! There will be people who wear SPF and will still get cancer. SPF isn’t a 100% protective measure against skin cancer, but it goes a long way to reducing the risk!

Scientifically and factually we know that UV Radiation damages the DNA in our skin cells. Over time, that damage can increase the risk of skin cancer, pigmentation, premature ageing and collagen breakdown.

SPF works by reducing how much UV radiation reaches the skin. So no, SPF is not the villain here. The real issue is misinformation convincing people to ditch protection altogether.

Newsflash - no one really likes needles!

In fact, our very own .jennit admits to being a bit of a wuss when it comes to needles! 👀

But, often, they’re a necessary hurdle to overcome! Especially if you’re wanting to explore aesthetic treatments! 💉
