A walkthrough isn’t just about looking at the space it’s about communication, clarity, and setting expectations on both sides. These are questions I always recommend asking:

Not every home needs the same level of attention. Knowing what matters most helps focus time where it counts.

2️⃣ Are there any problem areas you’re concerned about?
Heavy buildup, pet hair, hard water, grease, or spots that haven’t been cleaned in a while.

3️⃣ What type of cleaning are you expecting?
Maintenance, deep clean, move-out, or post-construction each one is very different.

4️⃣ Are there surfaces or materials I should be aware of?
Natural stone, specialty flooring, delicate finishes, stainless, glass types, etc.

5️⃣ Do you have pets or sensitivities?
Important for safety, products used, and expectations around fur or odors.

6️⃣ Are there areas you don’t want cleaned or want handled gently?
Off-limits rooms, sentimental items, or fragile décor.

✨ Why I Choose Cleaning — And Why I Love It ✨

I get comments all the time like, “Why would you ever want to be a cleaner? I hate cleaning.”
And honestly… that’s fine. We don’t all have to love the same things. But here’s why I genuinely love what I do:

1. My ADHD brain thrives here.
When your dopamine is low, seeing a transformation happen right in front of you hits different. The before-and-afters give me that dopamine boost my brain has been missing. And with ADHD (both inattentive and hyperactive), something about cleaning lets me hyperfocus in a way that actually calms my mind while still giving my body the movement it craves. It’s like my own version of being “hypnotized” into peace.

2. Helping people fuels me.
Before I ever picked up a mop, I was a waitress because I’ve always loved serving others. Making life easier on someone else has always been my thing. Cleaning lets me combine purpose with passion I get to transform someone’s space and their day at the same time. That lights me up every single time.

3. It keeps me strong mentally and physically.
Cleaning is movement, problem-solving, creativity, compassion, and connection all in one. It’s not just a job to me. It’s something that grounds me, challenges me, and keeps me feeling capable.

So no, you don’t have to understand why I love it.
Cleaning gives me purpose, focus, and real joy right alongside teaching.
It’s meaningful work, and it matters. And I’m not apologizing for loving something that changes people’s lives. ✨🧼💙

Why I Choose to Work as a Solo Cleaner 🧚‍♀️✨

It’s not because there aren’t amazing cleaners or helpers out there there absolutely are. But for me, I’m also a teacher, and managing a team would honestly be harder than just doing it myself.

When you own your business, you take pride in every single detail. And sometimes when you hire out, that same level of care and attention just isn’t there. I’d rather know that when a job is done, it’s done right by me.

Sure, there are downsides. If I’m sick, there’s no backup. There’s no one to fill in. But the upside is huge: my clients know exactly who’s coming into their home every time. There’s consistency, trust, and quality.

Bigger cleaning companies often focus on quantity over quality (not all, but many), while solo cleaners like me focus on building relationships and providing personalized care.

At the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 💙
