So far, an incredible 11,990 votes have been cast in The Best of Penwortham Awards. This is amazing, and here's why...

Firstly, we only opened the voting 18 hours ago!

Secondly, according to 2011 Census data, Penwortham is home to about 18,000 adults, and it's people aged over 18 that are most likely to vote...so, that means the number of votes we've seen already is equivalent to around 66% of the adult population of the town 😬 It's not entirely accurate, because the votes won't all have come from Penwortham residents (because our local businesses service customers from areas like Whitestake, Hutton and Longton etc) and because many people have voted in multiple categories, but it's still an incredible number to have reached so soon!
