********** ANNOUNCEMENT************

Well its been a very emotional day today...... Dont think ive cried so much in ages.......

It is with a very heavy heart to announce that i will be leaving Style Lounge Hair and Beauty Salon 🥺😥.

Believe me this is not a decision i have taken lightly but certain personal circumstances mean i cannot commit to the hours i was previously working at the salon and changes at work mean i can only work 3 out of 4 saturdays for makeup.

For those who have paid deposits, have vouchers or have weddings booked please do not panic as i will still honour your bookings but will do it from home instead/venue for weddings when the government states it is safe to do so. All covid meaures will still be in place, everything in my room will be sanitised and i will wear the correct protection, however i will understand if you would prefer to receive a refund which i would obviously honour.

Can i just say though i have absolutely loved my 6 years at the salon. The girls are amazing and are my friends for life. We were friends before i joined the salon family and i will miss the laughs at work and Jill telling me off for my unprofessional pictures of bins or mops in the background 🤣 but it wont stop us still misbehaving together outside of the salon 😉🥂, something we enjoy doing together!!

This year has been a testing time for all of us. Its made us realise what is important to us, the things that really matter and the things that we missed the most when we were in lockdown.

Its broken a lot of business's and i have been very lucky to have still been working in my main job as it has hit the beauty industry hard, especially mua's, however, I have had some lovely messages from people and i would just like to thank all of you for your support over the years.

I have absolutely loved working with each and everyone one of you and although i will miss the salon i am not going away completely just yet, i will just be concentrating more on my family.

I hope you can appreciate how hard this decision has been for me to make. And again, that it has not been a decision i made lightly, especially leaving Lyndsay, Jen, Jill and Adele. I have been an emotional wreck today and its still not sunk in. I really didnt realise it would be so hard 😭😭

Sending you all virtual hugs and kisses, and hope you are all staying safe and looking after each other. Its been an absolute pleasure working with everyone who has come into the salon, and memories and experience i will always cherish........ all my love, Nicky ❤🥺😘❤ # #

So the announcement today said there was still no go for makeup artists. I'm going to be honest i have extremely mixed emotions about this. I miss painting your faces and i hate being left in limbo like this but I'm also worried about the risks i may pose to my mum working so closely to people, as she hasn't been great with her copd lately 😥 however, i shall continue to follow the government guidance and will continue to update you..... 2020 is definitely a year we won't forget in a hurry!!! 🤦‍♀️ sending big hugs and kisses to you all # # # ❤🥰😘

💔omg i wish i could hug you all right now!!! I miss my hugs and i feel totally heartbroken that this week i should have been glamming all my beautiful prom girls up for their special day. I have no words...😥 but hopefully you will still be spoilt rotten on the day and you will soon have a re-scheduled date for your prom. If i could, i would hug each and every one of you right now....but for now i will send you all virtual hugs and kisses!! All my love, Nicky 😘💕💕 # # #

UPDATE!!!

So Boris has announced that hair dressers can return to work on 4th July but this does not include makeup artists and nail technicians.

Not sure how long it will be before i can paint your faces again, so sadly i still wont be booking any future appointments. However, i stick to my promise that i will refund any deposits paid for appointments i am unable to fulfil. Stay safe beautiful ladies. Sending love and hugs to you all, love Nicky # # #❤

Hi ladies, i am getting enquiries about changing prom bookings to new dates and when i will be taking new appointments. As of yet, government guidelines have not been released for makeup artists. Current advice for beauticians is that both the beautician and client must wear masks. This is obviously impossible for makeup artists to work round. I am going to attempt to do my daughters eyes and lashes this weekend whilst she is wearing a mask to see how that goes, but im not sure i will even be able to offer this service yet as the virus can be contracted through the eyes so eyeliner and mascara is also an issue. I am happy to re-book proms and weddings, but until the government can advise muas further it is not guaranteed i will be able to work for the new dates. If this is the case i am more than happy to refund your deposits. I think were all fed up now arent we, but my priority is your safety and also my family's safety. I think most of you know my mum suffers from COPD and as i do her shopping etc i have to make sure i am doing everything possible to keep her safe too. Hope you all understand. I will keep posting any updates. Love and hugs to all of you, Nicky # # #

Hi ladies, i have had a couple of enquiries regarding makeup appointments in the near future.
I will only return to work when the government states my industry (makeup application on clients) is safe to do so. Currently they have said July at the earliest for salons but these are vague guidelines and we would still need to adhere to social distancing. As you can imagine, this would be extremely difficult for a makeup artist to adhere to due to working in such close personal contact with a client and therefore at the moment i don't see much way around this.
Therefore, due to my industry being such a high risk profession in regards to covid-19, i do not envisage makeup application on clients to be returning any time soon.
I have to put the health and safety of my clients, myself and my family 1st. These are uncertain times and we are in an unknown territory so unless i receive clear guidelines on how i can apply makeup on a client whilst somehow socially distancing or a vaccination is miraculously created, i will not be re-opening my appointments just yet.
I promise i will keep you posted on any updates i receive, but in the meantime, please stay safe, look after each other and thank you for all you support. I miss you all 💔 love and hugs, Nicky # # # # # #

Happy Easter to all my lovely ladies. Very strange one this year. Been a bit down this weekend. We normally have all our family round for a big party and instead all we can do is face time. But we have a big roast dinner cooking and afterwards we will all face time each other with a few drinks. Not the same i know but as soon as this is all over we shall definitely make up for it. Hope you are all keeping safe, looking after each other and stuffing your faces with lots of chocolate!!! Miss your faces ❤❤ love Nicky 😘😘

❤I miss painting your beautiful faces but i am extremely lucky in the fact that this beautiful girl is in lockdown with me......so guess whos face you will be seeing a lot of so i dont lose my touch 😉... i wanted to create a spotlight with colour, and even though its been a month since i last did a makeover, i was very happy with this look. Isn't she gorgeous!!! Message me for any looks you want me to create on her❤

❤❤just a little message to say i hope you are all well and keeping safe. Its a tough time for us all at the moment. Not being able to see loved ones, the uncertainty of everything, brides to be having to cancel their weddings, people losing holidays...but one thing is for sure that when all this is over, we will appreciate everything that we took for granted and embrace life again. I miss painting your beautiful faces so i thought i would post a throw back from last year......and luckily for Georgia she is isolated with me so i will have lots more opportunity to paint her beautiful face and share some looks with you all. Sending lots of virtual hugs and kisses to you all, Nicky ❤❤
