Hey everyone!

I’ve been pretty non-existent on socials for the past year — and for the best reason — welcoming the newest addition to our family, my beautiful baby daughter!

Now that she’s turning 1 of Tuesday, I think it’s time I get back into posting… and what better way to kick it off than by talking about one of my favourite treatments: anti-wrinkle injections!

Let’s start by busting a few common myths around anti-wrinkle treatments:

1. Anti-wrinkle injections will remove every line on your forehead and around your eyes.

Sadly, this just isn’t realistic. A lot depends on when you start your tox journey.
If you begin in your mid to late 20s, chances are you don’t have many deep-set wrinkles yet — making it easier to smooth out your skin.
However, once lines are well-formed, they’re much harder to erase completely.
Think of it like a piece of paper: once it’s been folded many times, even after ironing it flat, you’ll still see traces of the folds.
It’s exactly the same with your skin.

2. Botox will "freeze" your face.

Not true!
Anti-wrinkle injections work by preventing the muscle from moving as much due to temporary paralysis — not by freezing your face.
The aim is to soften movement and reduce the formation of new lines, while still looking natural.

3. Tox lasts around 3-4 months, right?

Typically, yes — but it really varies from person to person.
Factors like your metabolism and how quickly your body absorbs the toxin will impact how long results last.
Some people enjoy 6-8 months between treatments, while others might notice it wearing off after just 8-10 weeks.
There’s no evidence that muscles “get used” to tox, but you may find you need adjustments over time depending on how your body responds.

4. Are top-ups necessary?

Not always!
However, a small tweak can be made within 2 weeks of your initial appointment if needed.
If a top-up is required, it’s best done within that 2-week window to enhance and prolong the results.
