My gorgeous friend whom I met at a pregnancy NCT like group, had booked in for a total restyle and colour change.

She was looking for caramel/honey blonde tones wanting warmth and dimension for a super soft grow out. She hadn’t had her hair done for just over a year, (just after we had our babies) 👶🏼 👶🏼

As you can see she has super long, thick hair and felt it was dragging her down a bit so first things first we took the length off. 💇‍♀️

I then used Peptide Prep Pro Chelating Hair Complex. What this does is reduces 7 types of mineral and metal buildup in just 4 minutes. It uses a blend of 5 chelators and an antioxidant peptide to boost color vibrancy, restore shine, and improve hair health before chemical services.

I then used K18 Professional Molecular Repair Hair Mist, this is a salon exclusive pre-treatment spray designed to reverse hair damage. Resulting in stronger healthier hair!

I then went through and did Whole head Balayage using around 4 or 5 different techniques. I chose to use a clay lightener for my client as I find it brings out the natural warmth and is more gentle on the hair for a slower lighter lift 🫶

Finished off with some leave in molecular hair repair mask and some DreamCoat heat defence.

Added some waves and there you have a whole new woman 🥰🫶

How should I prepare for my upcoming hair colour appointment?

1. Make sure your hair is clean AND dry on the day of your appointment. The more build up of oil and products on hair creates a barrier that the colour/bleach then needs to get through before it can start to work on your hair.

*Unless you are having a scalp bleach;
then it must be 24 hours since your last shampoo. We need the oil produced from the scalp to create a barrier that prevents any damage to skin.

2. Giving me an idea of your hair care range gives me a chance to recommend a product to help maintain colour and or prevent fading. (We don’t sell in salon but I can send you any links to products I recommend.)

Having a reference/mood board/ screenshots lets me see what you want to see and I can explain what is achievable and what’s probably AI 🤷🏼‍♀️ of if another technique would be best suited when approaching your colour service.

Try and remember any previous colour services and time frames. There is nothing worse for a hair colourist than expecting “virgin” hair and the bleach is saying you started growing it out a year ago and there is a clear colour band that we didn’t account for in our plan. It’s honestly cry worthy 🤣😭
