Yes I said it, taking a step back is sometimes best for our skin.
This counts for many reasons however not to get sidetracked, our skin still needs to be protected from harmful UV rays.
But let’s focus on the reasons why it’s sometimes best to take a break.
#1 - irritated skin
Skin is such an important part of our body, it is designed to protect our body’s from harmful pathogens and objects. when our skin gets irritated to the point of putting anything on our skin that creates a negative reaction, it’s best to leave it alone. Most of the time it comes from us doing something to it. Therefore letting our skin regenerate itself on its own is sometimes best. After all, it is our body’s largest organ.
#2 - Mental health
I’m a big supporter for mental health. Especially during this extremely difficult pandemic.
Stress usually makes an appearance on our skin in various ways such as; dull, saggy, tired looking skin, dark circles, puffy eyes, you know it, the usual “I haven’t slept look”.
So by letting our body’s to just rest and take a days break helps our mind which has a massive impact on our health and on our skin.
#3 - financial reasons
Good skincare can come at an expensive price, but what we really need is water, a roof over our head, food, clothes. This may sounds cliche but these things should come before we decide to splurge on less essential things.
Don’t get me wrong, there are products out there that has an amazing impact on our skin even when it is irritated. I do believe that just taking a day to just do nothing is sometimes a luxury of it’s own. But let’s not get sidetracked and let ourselves completely go. As most of you know I am a big lover of pamper days.
Thank you for reading, I wish you all a safe and healthy environment with happiness and contentment ♥️
