Our world today is a global village and this is made possible by the advent of technology. Due to this, countries around the world are investing heavily in technological infrastructure and creating an educational systems that will help train the young citizens to be able to use these infrastructures which will translate into growth for the country's economy.

Countries like USA, Britain, France, Germany, China and all the other G20 countries have invested heavily in their young citizens so that they can have the technical know how to be able to put the technology infrastructure into good use. And truly we can all see the end result.

With this, it is a great joy to hear that the government of Ghana is investing heavy in development of our technological infrastructure. Today we have e this and e that but the question is do we have the work force to man these initiatives? Or we will out source the workforce from other countries? These are real questions which need real answers.

When you take a tour through our basic schools in Ghana you will initially be impressed and happy by the curriculum they run especially the aspect that deals with computing and the creative arts. Now when you step into the class, you will start experiencing the shocks of your life and countless questions will be coming on your mind. This have been the concerns of the parents in this tough economy.

Schools are teaching computing without computer labs; even those who have, it is not equipped with working computers. You will enter a computer lab and out of 15 computers only 5 is working whiles a number per class is 40 to 60 so my question is how can practical work be done and will it be effective? Speaking to some parents, their confusion is their children are learning computing at school but can't use the computer. It is disheartening right?

Parents who wants their children to have practical computing skills have to enrol their wards to private tuition centers for them to acquire this very important skill. Some parents are fortunate to get what they are after but most of them are left disappointed because they don't get what they are paying for.

Yes, the labs are few so are the training centers who will give children the practical skills they will need. After careful study over the years and findings gathered, Peak Learning Center Education (PLC EDUCATION) team have developed a student based practical computing program that is aimed at giving children the practical computing skills that they will need in today's society.
