The lie about "Inflight Hydration."

I watch women (and men) on planes using misting sprays to fight dry cabin air. Sometimes I want to lean across the aisle and gently tell them "You are making it worse."

Here is what I know from over 60 years of travel, and as a natural formulator grounded in science: Cabin air is a thief.

The humidity at 30,000ft is drier than the Sahara Desert. So when you simply spray a water based mist or put on a sheet mask you are offering your skin up as a sacrifice to the atmosphere.

1. Seal (Don't just Hydrate)
You can’t add water in a vacuum. But you can guard it.
Face: Before boarding I splash water on, then IMMEDIATELY apply a rich, occlusive botanical cream. I use natural facial products rich in ceremides, shea butter and bees or carnauba wax. This creates a resilient, breathable seal.

I have packed my life into carry ons and memories. I have landed in deserts, cities and rainforests. One thing I have learned from 60 years of travel is the air up there is thirsty. Simply drinking water alone will not save your skin at thirty thousand feet.
