We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored again upon the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. After the death of the ancient apostles, many truths and priesthood authority were lost over time. But in His love, God prepared a complete restoration in the latter days.

The Restoration began when a young Joseph Smith prayed to know which church was true. In answer to his prayer, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him in the First Vision. From that moment, the Lord began restoring His Church, the priesthood, and the truths of the gospel.

We believe that the Book of Mormon is part of that restoration and another testament of Jesus Christ. We also believe that God continues to guide His Church today through prophets and continuing revelation.

The Restoration is a reminder that God still speaks, hears sincere prayers, and guides His children in every generation.

Missionaries around the world offer the simple, powerful knowledge of our divine identity as children of our Heavenly Father. We are all His beloved sons and daughters.

If you are thinking of serving a mission, imagine the joy of being able to share this beautiful truth: God loves us, He has a plan for us to grow here on Earth, and He wants us to return home to Him. Jesus Christ is the way we can.
