What can I do to keep my kidneys healthy?

You can protect your kidneys by preventing or managing health conditions that cause kidney damage, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. The steps described below may help keep your whole body healthy, including your kidneys.

What is kidney failure?

What are the symptoms of kidney failure?

What causes kidney failure?

How will I know if I have kidney failure?

Kidney failure, also called end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), is the fifth and last stage of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Kidney failure cannot be reversed and is life-threatening if left untreated. However, dialysis or a kidney transplant can help you live for many more years.

What is kidney failure?

Kidney failure is when your kidneys have stopped working well enough for you to survive without dialysis or a kidney transplant. Your kidneys have lost their ability to filter waste from your blood. Kidney failure is also called end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) or end-stage renal disease (ESRD). It is stage 5 of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

What are the symptoms of kidney failure?

Symptoms of kidney failure may include:

1. Itchy skin or rashes
Muscle cramps.

2. Feeling sick to your stomach or throwing up.

3. Not feeling more hungry than normal.
4. Swelling in your feet and ankles.
4. Urinating (peeing) more or less than normal.
5. Foamy, frothy or bubbly-looking urine.
6. Trouble catching your breath.
7. Trouble falling or staying asleep.

What causes kidney failure?

Kidney failure is usually caused by other health problems that have damaged your kidneys little by little throughout many years, including:

1. Diabetes, which is the most common cause.
2. High blood pressure, which is the second most common cause
3. Autoimmune diseases, such as lupus and IgA nephropathy
4. Genetic diseases (diseases passed down from one or both parents), such as polycystic kidney disease
5. Nephrotic syndrome
Problems in your urinary tract (organs that make urine and remove it from your body), such as kidney stones.
7. Smoking to***co
8. Drinking too much alcohol (no more than 1 drink a day for women, and no more than 2 drinks a day for men)

Bad va**nal odor: causes, how to get rid of it?

For the past few days, have you noticed an unpleasant smell in your private parts? Bad smell despite repeated washes, fishy smell... Possibly an infection? A forgotten stamp? Diagnosis and treatment with Dr Odile Bagot gynecologist

SUM

Normal va**na odor. Forgotten tampon. Bad odor after s*x. Bad odor of urine. Strong heat. Odor of periods. Odor and mycosis

What smell does va**na smell like? Difficult to know for certain. One can, however, be vigilant to its secretions and the v***a as a whole. Va**nal secretions are more or less abundant according to women. Naturally colorless, painless and odorless, they puncture the menstrual cycle. "They are composed of a liquid produced by the va**na and the va**nal bacterial flora, explains gynecologist Odile Bagot in her book "Vagin & Cie we tell you everything" (Editions Mango). The va**na is covered with a film that is essentially made up of water and other substances. This mucus that covers your va**nal walls is multifunctional. It ensures the immune defense of the va**na, removes dead cells by self-cleaning, promotes balance of va**nal flora and participates in lubrication during s*xual in*******se. "Problem is that sometimes this flower is imbalanced promoting the development of bad odors." Other causes may also be responsible. Fortunately, there are always solutions.

What is a normal va**na smell?

Generally, you wonder if the va**na smell is normal when you perceive a bad one on this intimate area. "The va**na or rather the v***a has almost no smell," answers Dr Odile Bagot, gynecologist. Similarly va**nal secretions do not have either, if only on a very thin nose, they have a slightly acidic smell. But never a strong smell that you can smell from outside. "Anyway, when everything is going well...

Fishy smell: vaginosis?

"The most abnormal smell characteristic of an infection is that of vaginosis," says Dr Bagot. This is an "imbalance of the va**nal flora associated with an increase in va**nal pH. The good germs that secret lactic acid to acidify it are diminishing, leaving way for bad germs like gardnerella. "The signs: slightly colored secretions and a broken fishy smell." No big deal. In case of discomfort, consult a doctor who will prescribe an antibiotic (Secnol, Flagyl) and ovaries. And/or rebalance its flora with S***m .

Persistent bad smell: a forgotten stamp?

"Another cause of awful smell is the forgetting of the tampon in the va**na," says Dr Bagot. "It takes a good week before it really starts to smell, but after the woman washes 10 times a day, the smell doesn't go away, it's typical." "In that case, there is only one solution: to go to the doctor to have the stamp removed." What about toxic shock ? "Women should not be outraged, says the specialist. Forgetting a stamp is rare, so is toxic shock. And it can also happen with a sanitary towel or cup and not just a tampon left on too long."

Bad smell after s*x?

Without being unpleasant, it can happen to smell a particular odor at the va**nal secretions after s*xual in*******se. It may be the smell of s***m found in the va**nal dead end "It coagulates at the bottom of the va**na and liquezes the next day which can give an odor (when it flows into the va**na)", explains Dr Odile Bagot. No worries in that case, that smell will go away fast!

Bad smell and heat: station to the maceration!

It's hot, your pants are a little tight at the crotch... and you smell bad intimate odors? "This can come from heat-related maceration, especially in slightly overweight women," says

gynecologist Odile Bagot. In this case: use cotton panties, prefer skirts and wash the peri-anal area well without forgetting to dry it well afterwards (the inter-glute fold is an area for maceration).

The smell of menstruation

The bleeding during menstruation is not without odor. But "if they feel strong, they can be associated with vaginosis because the presence of blood, by raising the pH of the va**na, can promote the development of gardnerella," explains Dr Bagot. Wat is there too do? Be vigilant on the toilet. Especially during your period. Wash out the v***a (never the inside of the va**na ! ) with a gynecological soap suitable for daily toilet or with regular soap if it does not cause irritation or dryness. Change your protections regularly to avoid maceration.

Mycosis does not have a smell

It itches, causes more white loss, can prevent sleep... but she has no smell. Caused by the excessive development of a fungus called Candida Albicans, the mycosis requires medical consultation and prescription of treatment: "An antimycosic cream provides some relief from burns but does not cure it" the mycosis, indicates Odile Bagot, it is imperative to always attach a va**nal ovule and a aunocological soap with HP.
Cutie Lady Capsules is the best Va**na Protector and you don't have to wait to get an infection before taking .
