I was not aware when this picture was taken during my FUNCTIONAL TRAINING CLASS; and to be chosen as their 2020 January campaign, is not only an honor but I hope an INSPIRATION to others that NO matter what life throws at you, you can ALWAYS make a come back with the right ATTITUDE. 💫

As some may remember, I was DIAGNOSED with
last January after a ruptured muscle injury. Fast forward 10 months of NO RUNNING, physical therapy and looking for alternative ways to EXERCISE, I now feel so BLESSED and GRATEFUL to be able to run again. 🏃‍♀️🙏❤

Goodbye 2019❣ Thank you for teaching me about the value of PATIENCE and RESILIENCE like I had never experienced before.
TOP lesson learned: You should NEVER doubt yourself of how mentally STRONG you can actually be.🧘‍♀️🧠

cellulite is normal. skin moves. if you run, YOU have a runner’s body.
This isn’t a bad picture. How could it be? I’m running my 42nd marathon on one of the fastest courses in the world - & I’m smiling because I was genuinely happy!! 🙂

I could have worn a tank, knowing the skin on my stomach moves. I could have worn capris or leggings knowing that my thighs rub when I run and that I have cellulite. I didn’t. I wore what was comfortable & I felt confident. I still feel confident. This is me. Sometimes in photos my skin looks smooth, and my muscles are visible and sometimes I look like this - neither way I appear in a photo is better than the other.

In two weeks I’ll run my 43rd marathon and a week after that I’ll run my 44th marathon - making that 6 marathons this year, the most I’ve ever run in a year! Fit isn’t a look - it’s a feeling.

Don’t let photos steal joy or make you feel badly about yourself or your body! Any picture of you doing something that sets your soul on fire and makes you happy - is a GOOD PHOTO in my book. Xoxo

Because plantains have so many health benefits, it's a GREAT idea to include them in your daily meal plan. 🍌🍌

Some of the BENEFITS are: 🔸️HELP WITH ULCERS CAUSED BY ASPIRIN 🔹️ARE HIGH IN VITAMIN A 🔸️ARE HIGH IN FIBER WHICH IS GOOD FOR DIGESTIVE HEALTH 🔹️CONTAIN POTASSIUM WHICH IS GOOD FOR YOUR HEART AND OTHER ORGANS 🔸️CONTAIN MAGNESIUM WHICH IS NEEDED FOR GOOD HEALTH

3 ways to COOK plantains (my healthy favorite ones!) 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 1) Peel plantain, cut in 4 pieces add water and cinammon, and microwave 3 minutes in pyrex bowl. No sugar needs to be added.
2) Place whole platain on hot grill for 10-15 mins or until peel bursts open.
3) Peel plantain, cut in 4 pieces, place in saucepan with 1 cup water + cinammon stick and bring to boil. Simmer for 5 mins. or until soft. No sugar needs to be added.

TIP WHEN BUYING: Look for the yellow/spotted ones (like the ones in the picture). These are sweeter🙂
