5 key principles for loosing weight safely and effectively:

--- restrict carbohydrates such as simple sugars, fructose and grains (especially refined grains) in your diet. Key message: Do not increase your insulin level unnecessarily!

--- replace these carbs with healthy alternatives like vegetables and healthy fats (including natural saturated fats!).

Thyroid problems associated with HASHIMOTO-DISEASE?

We often stress the importance of organic selenium supplementation, especially in Europe! Not because we are believers of supplements, but because the soils of Europe are generally poor in selenium, therefore our dietary sources are also lacking of this vital trace mineral.

Now we want to share with you a study that reported the following results in connection with Hashimoto's disease:
“Selenium also plays a role in the functioning of the thyroid gland. It may inhibit Hashimotos's disease, in which the body's own thyroid cells are attacked as alien. A reduction of 21% on TPO antibodies (anti-TPO) was reported with the dietary intake of 0.2 mg of selenium.”×× (note: 4 times higher then recommended daily intake)

What does this mean? The autoimmun-like "attacks" have dropped by 21% against the body's own thyroid cells (because certain components of these cells considered as dangerous).

Since we're facing here an autoimmune problem, of course, nutritional supplementation alone will not solve the problem permanently, but with this condition it might be a huge help to increase selenium intake. A PROPER DIET with an autoimmun-protocol (heal and seal your gut) and GOOD QUALITY organic selenium can make you feel much much better... ( and not just for Hashimoto's disease)!

Want to identify real risk factors for heart disease? Or how to determine easily whether you are at risk or not at all?

Two ratios that are very good indicators to evaluate your heart disease risk:

--- HDL/total cholesterol ratio: this ratio is a very potent heart disease risk factor. Just divide your HDL level by your total cholesterol (then ×100). This percentage should ideally be above 24 percent. If it is below 10 percent, then you have a significant indicator of risk for heart disease. Take action asap...
--- triglyceride/HDL ratios: This ratio should ideally be below 2! If not, you need help too.

Additional factors to evaluate your heart disease risk may include:
--- HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin) level (should be far under 5%, best is 4%)
--- C-reactive protein (should be less than 1.0 mg/L)

So what causes damage to your arteries?

One of the primary causes is sugar, fructose and other refined carbs in particular. So eating a high sugar and starch diet is the best way to put heart disease risk on your list of main health problems. Meanwhile, the health status of your liver and the balance of your gut flora is significant too...

A few days ago I had to answer a question.
The question was as follows:
What are those nutritional supplements, which may be justified in the context of CANCER PREVENTION among European circumstances, BUT easily available, inexpensive and can be really effective?

This answer crossed my mind:
I'm very-very minimalist with supplementation, the most important thing is always the RIGHT AND BALANCED DIET, because the health effects of poor nutrition can never be made up with any kind of additional food supplement.

BUT, FOR PREVENTION, followed by the right diet and for meeting with the above mentioned criteria (without being exhaustive):
--- Organic Selenium
--- Omega-3 fats (animal sources, pharmaceutical quality and in bigger quantity. 1 capsule a day? ... it's not that quantity!)
--- Vitamin D3 (on skin and oral, also in large quantities)
--- Green concentrated powders of leafy vegetables and magnesium with high bioavailability
--- Astaxanthin (from microalgae; a great antioxidant and anti-aging stuff)
--- Vitamin E and C.
--- Vitamin K2 (because you might suffer from intestinal dysbiosis)
--- Therapeutic dose of quality probiotics and prebiotics too (like resistant starch)
--- Preparations containing iridoids (or a variety of herbs such as Morinda cirtifolia).

In addition to nutrition and for cancer prevention discussed above: this is an extra solution "only" for those who have a genuine need to preserve their health and feel a sense of responsibility for their own organism (or their families)...

10 LIFESTYLE FACTORS, which are the most destructive for YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

1: Simple sugars and sweeteners of all kind (yes, artificial too), as well as any food in which they occur.

2: Refined carbohydrates (even whole grains if grinded for flour) and of course cakes, cereals, pastas, breads...

3: Chemically or industrially modified, hydrogenated (a process that adds hydrogen to solidify or harden) VEGETABLE OILS (and fats): like margarine, cooking oils and vegetable shortenings... consumption of trans-fatty acids from partially hydrogenated vegetable fats have many-many adverse health effects.
The risk is even higher if these ingredients have been used in one product ... just check out your favorite cakes and chocolate bars :-)

4: Lack of good quality, essential fats (Omega 3 and Omega 6).

5: Lack of essential and non-allergenic proteins: egg, fish, guality meat...

6: Unnecessary disinfection, pest control, artificial additives, usage of cosmetics.

7: Drugs, primarily antibiotics and steroids, as well as antidepressants and painkillers.

8: Lack of sunlight.

9: Lack of fresh air and daily physical activity (and high level of radiation associated electrical equipments: continuous electro-smog load).

10: And if your diet is poor in enzymes: (raw) fresh, seasonal vegetables from local sources (therefore missing micronutrients too: vitamins and minerals)...
