If you’ve brought home pieces of pre-owned clothes, do clean it properly.
Pre-owned clothes have the potential to act as vehicles for spread of infection (virus, bacterial or yeast infection).
There are also 2 additional points where pre-owned clothing can spread infection.
• The first is where contaminated items are handled before and during laundering.
• Secondly, if the laundry process fails to eliminate contamination, this can then be spread to other items in the laundry load. If laundry is left damp, this encourages microbial survival and there is the chance for growth of residual micro-organisms, such that clothes can then become a source if microbes.
With proper care, we can still use pre-owned clothes.
Melasama associated with telangiectasias have been secondary to the effect hormones, sun exposure, topical steroid, rosacea or systemic diseases.
Elevated vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in keratinocytes also has been hypothesized to play a role in the elevated vascularization of melasma.
By targetting the vessels in addition to the pigment, we will get improved clinical results and fewer relapses.
