Face Files #2 Can you have LED Phototherapy in summer? Absolutely.
Summer can bring its own challenges for the skin, from dehydration and increased sensitivity to congestion and pigmentation.
Unlike UV light, Phototherapy uses clinically proven therapeutic wavelengths of light to support the skin’s natural repair processes. It’s a gentle, non-invasive treatment that can be personalised to your skin’s individual needs and is suitable throughout the year.
If you’d like to try Dermalux LED Phototherapy, book your treatment via the link in my bio🤍

Does your skin feel tight after cleansing?
It might not be your skin, it could be your cleanser.
A good facial cleanser should remove makeup, SPF and excess oil while leaving your skin feeling clean, comfortable and balanced, never stripped❌
Supporting your skin barrier starts with choosing the right cleanser.
Some of my favourite gentle, yet effective cleansers include:
• AlumierMD Gentle Foaming Cleanser
• La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser
• La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lavant B5 Cleansing Gel
• CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
• The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser
• Dermaviduals DMS Cleansing Milk
• Skingredients PreProbiotic Cleanser
• Dr Sam’s Flawless Cleanser

Age certainly influences our skin. Fine lines, reduced firmness and increased dryness are all natural changes over time. But age is only one part of the picture.
Hormones, pregnancy, menopause, certain medications, skin conditions and even the changing seasons can all influence how our skin behaves. That’s why there’s no single age at which everyone suddenly needs a different routine.
If your skin is healthy, comfortable and your current routine is working well, there’s usually no reason to change what’s working. And despite what you may have heard, your skin doesn’t stop benefiting from a well-formulated product simply because you’ve been using it for a while.
Ultimately, the best skincare routine is the one that’s right for your skin🤍

One of the biggest skincare myths is that your skin should feel squeaky clean after cleansing.
In reality, that tight, squeaky-clean feeling can be a sign you’ve removed more than just dirt, makeup and excess oil.
A good cleanser should cleanse effectively while leaving your skin feeling clean, comfortable and balanced, never stripped.
If your skin regularly feels dry, tight or uncomfortable after cleansing, your cleanser may simply be too harsh for your skin.
Healthy skin starts with supporting your skin barrier, and cleansing is where that begins. It’s the foundation of every skincare routine.
Some of my favourite cleansers that are both gentle and effective include:
Gentle Foaming Cleanser
Cicaplast Lavant B5 Cleansing Gel and their Toleriane Dermo Cleanser
Hydrating Cleanser
Flawless Cleanser
Squalane Cleanser
DMS Cleansing Milk
PreProbiotic Cleanse Hydrating Cleanser
Oil-in-Gel Cleanser ( stock).

Teen skincare has become a huge topic on social media but the reality is that most teenagers don’t need complicated routines or anti-ageing skincare.
For many, a gentle cleanser, a suitable moisturiser and daily SPF provide a great foundation. Building good skincare habits is far more important than following every trend.
It’s also important to remember that hormones are one of the biggest reasons skin changes during the teenage years. While a few spots can be completely normal, persistent breakouts, acne or other skin concerns deserve the right advice rather than trial and error.
Every teenager’s skin is different, which is why recommendations shouldn’t be based solely on what’s worked for someone else. Understanding what’s actually going on with skin is the first step towards choosing products that are appropriate for that individual.
If you’re unsure where to start, my Teen Skin Foundations is designed to educate both teenagers and parents, simplify skincare and create an age-appropriate routine tailored to your teen’s skin.

Not skincare but one habit I rarely skip🤍
Most of what I share here is skincare, but I thought I’d share one of my favourite morning rituals too.
Before I leave for the clinic, I always make this cacao cuppa and its lovely way to start the day✨
• 1 dessert spoon of
• 1 dessert spoon vanilla protein powder. I love
• 1-2 tsp MCT oil (.ie stock)
• A pinch of cinnamon
• Unsweetened almond or coconut milk
I gently heat the milk then add everything to a mug, give it a quick whizz with my little frother, then top it up with a splash of just-boiled water (optional).
A little protein to help keep me feeling satisfied, cacao for its rich flavour and naturally occurring flavanols, and MCT oil as a readily available source of energy to get me going😊

Sometimes, the instinct is to keep adding products in the hope that our skin will improve.
But when skin is feeling inflamed, sensitive or unsettled, doing more isn’t always the answer❌Often, the best approach is to take a step back, simplify your routine and focus on supporting the skin barrier.

Heat can leave skin feeling more dehydrated, sensitive and reactive than usual, so if your skin is feeling a little off, pare back and keep things simple. And don’t forget to reapply your SPF regularly🤍

Social media has, in many ways, changed our expectations of what healthy skin should look like.
Skin naturally has texture. It has pores. And it changes throughout our lives due to things like age, hormones, stress, sleep and even the seasons.
For me, healthy skin is skin that functions well✨Skin that feels comfortable, resilient and supported, rather than constantly irritated or overwhelmed by trying to do too much.
Perhaps it’s time we focused a little less on chasing perfection and a little more on supporting our skin instead🤍
If you’re unsure where to start, a consultation is always the best place to begin. Your skin is personal, and your skincare should be too. Consultations can be booked via the link in my bio🔗
