If life were as simple as choosing a nail colour…

Unfortunately, it isn’t.

But at least you won’t have to think about your nails for the next few weeks. 🤍✨

Simple, elegant, and made to fit into real life — because there’s already enough on your plate.

Some women are no longer staying silent. And honestly? That’s beautiful.

There was a time when women were expected to carry everything quietly.
To smile when they were exhausted.
To stay when they were unhappy.
To put everyone else first — children, family, work, responsibilities — and somehow still never complain.

But something is changing.

Women are starting to understand that their life also belongs to them.
That resting is not selfish.
That saying “no” is not rude.
That having dreams outside of motherhood, relationships or everyday survival does not make them bad women.

And I truly love seeing that. 🤍

I love seeing women who no longer shrink themselves just to make others comfortable.
Women who finally speak up.
Women who choose peace over pretending.
Women who stop apologizing for wanting more from life.

Because self-care is not “just nails”, “just hair”, or “just a beauty appointment”.
Sometimes it’s the only quiet hour in a woman’s week where she can finally breathe.

And every woman deserves moments that are only hers. ✨

A post in a local group recently caught my attention.
A mum was asking where she could get nail extensions done for herself… and for her 10-year-old daughter.
And honestly — as a nail technician, it made me stop for a second.

That’s exactly why I decided to create this post. Not to judge anyone, not to attack parents, but simply to share a professional perspective from someone who works with nails every single day.

Children’s nails are still developing.
They are thinner, softer, more sensitive and much easier to damage.

And while nail extensions may look “cute” or harmless, they are still a chemical and mechanical procedure designed for mature nails.

Of course, there are exceptions.
In some cases — especially severe nail biting — I may help younger teens with a very short, natural reinforcement to protect the nails. But personally, I do not perform nail extensions on small children.
And there’s another important thing many people don’t even think about: hygiene and sterilization.
Unfortunately, not every salon follows proper sterilization standards.

And if a place is willing to perform extensions on a very young child without hesitation… it honestly raises questions about their professionalism overall.
Nail tools come into contact with skin, cuticles and sometimes even blood through tiny accidental cuts.
If tools are not properly disinfected and sterilized, serious infections and blood-borne diseases can potentially spread between clients — including hepatitis B, hepatitis C and other dangerous infections.

That’s why choosing a nail technician should never be only about price or pretty Instagram photos.
For me, professionalism also means knowing when to say “no.” 🤍

Sometimes people think being a nail tech is “just doing nails.”
But behind every manicure there are stories.
Real ones.

One client sits down glowing because she just got engaged.
Another tries to smile while quietly going through the hardest time in her life.
Someone becomes a mom.
Someone loses herself and slowly starts finding confidence again.
Someone talks the entire appointment.
Someone stays silent because this is the only peaceful hour in her week.

And somewhere between colors, coffee and tiny details…
we hold space for all of it. 🤍

Being a nail tech is not only about pretty nails.
It’s listening.
Feeling energy.
Remembering little things.
Trying to make someone leave feeling lighter, prettier, calmer, stronger.

Sometimes we run late.
Sometimes clients don’t show up.
Sometimes our own minds are exhausted too.
But we still sit down every day and create beauty with our hands.
And honestly?
That’s the part people don’t see enough. ✨
