She’s making a slow and careful comeback — no more chasing little ones around the playroom 🏃‍♀️✂️ (doctor’s orders!) — but she is back behind the chair doing regular haircuts and loving every minute of it.

Hi everyone, Maggie here…

Something unexpected has happened — I had a bit of a funny fall, which unfortunately turned out to be a serious spinal injury. And with a very heavy heart, I need to let you know that I’ll be stepping away from barbering for good.

It’s honestly hard to put into words how sad this makes me. I’ve spent the last 18 years in Inchicore working with the kindest, funniest, and most loyal customers I could have ever wished for. So many of you have become true friends for life. This August would have marked 30 years of barbering for me — I was so close.

But for now, I need to focus on my health and recovery.

I’d love to ask you to show the same support and kindness to Monika, who will now be taking care of all my wonderful clients. If you’re already booked in with me, please move your appointment over to her — I have so many bookings lined up, it would take me ages to contact everyone individually.

We’re currently on the hunt for a small room or space (up to 30 square meters) to create a private barbering studio – specially designed for sensory-friendly haircuts and a calm, personalised experience for kids and parents.

The space can be part of another business or facility – like a toy shop, crèche, community centre, school, or anywhere welcoming and inclusive.

We’re passionate about creating a safe, understanding environment for neurodivergent children – but the space will also be open to all families who prefer a quieter, more one-to-one barbering experience.

It is with a heavy heart that I share some sad news—Maggie has recently experienced a loss in her family and will be away until further notice. We deeply appreciate the kindness and understanding of those who have adjusted their appointments and supported us during this time. Your compassion truly means the world.

However, as we’ve seen before, not everyone understands that life can sometimes bring unexpected challenges. To those who feel inconvenienced, I wish I could schedule personal tragedies with months of notice—but unfortunately, that’s not how life works. Maggie is a wonderful barber, but she is also a human being with a family, and she will not be working with those who lack basic respect and empathy.

For our lovely, understanding customers—Monika and Elena are here to take care of you and your little ones with the same warmth and dedication. We appreciate you more than you know.

Do you have a little one who finds haircuts overwhelming or scary? At our barbershop, we specialize in sensory-friendly haircuts, creating a calm and imaginative environment where kids feel safe and supported.

We’re excited to announce a new project to spread awareness and inspire others. We’re launching a YouTube channel to show parents and barbers that stress-free haircuts are possible with the right approach. Alongside this, we’ll also be hosting a podcast where we can chat about these journeys and share stories.

Here’s where you come in! We’d love to invite you and your child to take part. We’re offering free haircuts to families willing to share their stories with us. In return, we’d capture your experience on video and share it on our social media to help others.

Our barbershop is equipped with beautiful playrooms to make the experience fun and engaging for your child. We’re here to show the world that a little care, creativity, and understanding can make a huge difference.

All I can ask you at this moment is understanding.

We hope this message finds you well. As many of you know, we have dedicated ourselves to providing a safe and supportive environment for sensory haircuts, specializing in caring for anxious, sensitive, and neurodivergent children. Over the years, our goal has always been to ensure our services remain affordable, as we deeply understand the challenges you face in finding the right care for your children.

However, after much consideration and advice from business and tax professionals, it has become clear that, to keep our doors open, we need to make some difficult changes. We have worked long hours, often without paying ourselves, just to maintain our low prices. Unfortunately, this has taken a toll on both our physical health and the sustainability of our business.

We want to be transparent with you, as you are all an important part of our community. It currently costs us €5000 per month just to cover the essential overheads of our shop—before we can even think about paying ourselves. Without adjusting our prices and implementing stricter policies, we will eventually face closure, and we desperately want to continue serving you and your families.

Starting **October 1st**, we will be introducing new prices and policies, which we kindly ask for your understanding and support in accepting.

We understand these changes may feel challenging, and we truly wish we didn’t have to make them. Please know that they are necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of our business, which we value so deeply. We also know that many of you have witnessed the toll this work has taken on our health, especially Maggie.While we love what we do, it is crucial that we take care of ourselves too.

We are so grateful for your continued trust in us and for allowing us to be a part of your lives. We are committed to continuing to provide the highest quality of service, with the understanding and compassion that your families deserve.

Hey everyone! Over the past few years, we’ve noticed a few things that haven’t worked as well as we hoped for our shop. Despite our best efforts to make adjustments, it has become clear that we need to make a few important changes in order to keep our doors open and running smoothly. We truly appreciate your understanding, especially when it comes to the effort we put into creating a safe, positive experience for children with sensory sensitivities.

With that in mind, we’d like to share some new policies to ensure fairness and better service for everyone:

1. Deposits for New Bookings
Due to a lengthy waiting list, it’s become difficult when clients book and don’t show up for their appointments. To help with this, we will now require a deposit on all new bookings (new customers or previously cancelled appointments). This will help us manage our schedule more effectively and ensure that no appointment slots go unused.

2. Maggie’s Availability
Maggie will no longer be able to accommodate new clients and will only be taking bookings from her existing clients. If you are new to our shop, you’ll be able to book your child’s haircut with Elena, who will happily take care of you!

3. Respecting Stylist Differences
Each stylist has their own unique set of skills, and we kindly ask for your understanding if certain services aren’t possible with every stylist. Our team is committed to doing their best, but everyone has different strengths. If a haircut isn’t possible due to concerns about your child’s well-being, we will still need to charge a small fee to cover the time and resources dedicated to the appointment. We’ve provided free appointments for nearly five years, but in order to continue serving you, we need to ensure our business remains sustainable.

Thank you so much for your continued support and understanding as we make these changes. We are committed to providing the best experience possible for your children and appreciate your trust in us!

I don’t know how I am going to survive without all my little customers for 2 weeks ,but I will have to find a way😉

I am away on holidays starting today until the end of July.

Usually, when I'm away, I still stay in touch with all the clients on Instagram and messenger, but this time, I will be totally disconnected .

If you're looking for an appointment with me for a Sensory Haircut as a returning customer and your little one is quite good with haircuts this might be the best time to book with Monika and check if they're ready to get their haircut from someone else keeping them still in the same surroundings of our Sensory Rooms.
You can book with Monika online using option (Kids Regular Haircut in a Play Room)

In case your little ones are not ready for that move ,then we have no other option than waiting. Keep checking online my availability as August is almost booked out.
Don't worry about September appointments. I will be only opening them in the second week of August as we are putting in a few little changes in our software ,so don't get scared if you see no availability for September.

All other haircuts (excluding skin fades) for all kids that enjoy getting their hair done and like to come to our Play Rooms can be booked with Elena.

Sensory haircuts are not required as we have a specialist working in this area🙂

You will be working with our awesome little customers, playing with cars, and watching movies with them often eating crisps or chocolate 😉🙂
