Can laser remove light hair? 🤔

This is one of the most common questions I hear in the clinic.

The answer is: no. And it’s not because the laser isn’t strong enough.

A laser works like a very precise “target finder”. It looks for melanin, the dark pigment inside the hair. The darker the hair, the more melanin it contains, making it much easier for the laser to detect and target.

Light blonde, grey, or very fair hairs simply don’t contain enough pigment. To the laser, they’re almost invisible.

It’s a bit like trying to take a photo of a white cat in the snow. If there’s no contrast, the target becomes very difficult to see.

That’s why during consultations we always honestly assess whether the treatment will give the expected results. It’s always better to be truthful from the start than to promise something that technology simply can’t achieve ✨
