Here’s what to do if your fingernail is hurt, bleeding, and lifted (partially detached):

🩹 Immediate Care

* Wash your hands
*Use soap and water to clean both your hands and the injured finger.

*Stop the bleeding
*Apply gentle pressure with a clean gauze or cloth for several minutes.
*f it keeps bleeding, keep pressure on for up to 10–15 minutes.
*Once bleeding stops, rinse the area with clean water or sterile saline.

* Protect the nail bed
*
If the nail is partially lifted but still attached, don’t pull it off.
*Cvoer the area with a non-stick sterile bandage (like Telfa) and wrap gently with gauze or a bandage.

*Keep it clean and dry

*Avoid submerging your finger in water (baths, dishes, etc.) until it heals.

⚠️ See a JF Foot Spa or urgent care if:

The nail is mostly or fully lifted or looks like it will come off soon.

There’s a lot of pain, swelling, or throbbing (possible infection or nail-bed injury).

The bleeding won’t stop after 15 minutes of pressure.
*There’s pus, redness, or warmth around the nail after a day or two.
