Whether or not you have already completed a baby massage course you will find ways to feel a greater sense of ease and connection through exploring an exciting fusion of western and eastern massage and acupressure techniques, mindful movement and body awareness approaches that are grounded in infant development, modern science, Traditional Chinese Medicine and best practice.

Today was one of those days where I felt so contented. Iโm reminding myself to let that in and let that linger.
And also to come back to this day to sustain me for those times when Iโm not feeling so contented.
The orange peel floating in the rhubarb cordial that I shared with my daughter in our little sun trap of a garden. Her interest in how we made it and her slurps of enjoyment. Explaining how it was a treat yet so good for her body too.
Our happy dog contentedly chewing on his piece of stick on the patchy lawn. The long overdue tending to the garden,happeningโฆ.finally. The snails, the beetles the birds and the bees. My work earlier supporting a new mother. Relishing the joy and excitement of their new baby boy and their new emergence as mother and father. Knowing Iโve made a positive contribution in some small way.

Happy Spring Equinox everyone!
This is the time of year when our Sun rises directly above our equator, the centre line of Earth. It is a time of balance between light and dark.
From this still point of stability the Earth gradually tilts more towards the Sun each day until we reach the height of Summer or Yang.
It is a PERFECT opportunity to come into relationship with natureโs natural cycles - our own natural cycles. Letโs harness and embody that sense of balance which is so potent this time of year and balance our Yin and Yang energies.
There is no better way to recharge โ so how can we do it?!
Well one way is to simply stand upright. Feel your feet on the ground. Bring your attention to the top of your head.
Imagine you are hanging from a string, from the top of your head. Tuck your chin slightly towards your chest.
Feel your spine lengthen.
Have your knees slightly off lock. Now bring your attention back to the soles of your feet.
Letโs find your perfect point of balance on the soles of your feet. Slowly bring your weight forwards and then backwards, like a pendulum, then left to right until you feel that sweet spot where your weight is perfectly balanced between the balls of your big and little toe and the heel of your foot. Think of a tripod. Adjust your weight across the tripods of both your feet until you feel equal pressure in those 3 places. Youโll know you are balanced by the quality of ease youโll find as you stand there.
Play with ways to feel balance in your life over the next 3 days. Smile at the Sun and enjoy your sense of balance and alignment with nature ๐

I was reminded today how rough my foray into motherhood was ๐ฅบ I get so many messages from mums in particular who hear my birth trauma story & desperately need to feel heard.
Itโs a huge reason Iโm a proud supporter of & why I wrote my best seller โBreaking Mum & Dad: The Insiders Guide to Parenting Anxietyโ๐ - no new parent should ever feel as though the crap feelings and experience is their โfaultโ. You did your best mama ok ๐ I hear you.
A post partum haemorrhage, intrusive thoughts, borderline psychosis & crappy post natal depression couldnโt keep me down forever ๐ชโบ๏ธโฆ.my boy is my absolute world, never knew love like it once the mental health healed ๐ฅฐ for whoever needs to hear this right now, I promise youโฆit does get better ok ๐ซถ

Chestnut mushroom and wilted spinach on sourdough
Feeling REALLY good about choosing another tasty and healthy meat free option for lunch!
In TCM the Chestnut mushroom is known to support our Stomach and Spleen Channels and Organs. These Channels are connected to the Earth Element and help support our digestive functions.
It also helps to keep our Kidney Channel and itโs Organ working properly, Kidney is connected to the Water Element.
From a western viewpoint Chestnut mushrooms contain B vitamins, copper, selenium, potassium, calcium, vitamin C, and magnesium.
They are a great way to get more fiber into your diet so great for your bowels and microbiome.
Unlike other vegetables, this mushroom is a source of vitamin D which supports your immune system and helps keep bones and joints healthy.
They are a great source of beta-glucans, a type of complex polysaccharide. On one hand, they can help remove cholesterol from your body by binding to it and help lower blood sugar levels on the other they contain antioxidants. This fungus contains glutathione and ergothioneine, two compounds capable of reducing damage from toxins and free radicals by neutralizing these dangerous substances. These two antioxidants are also great at reducing the inflammation that could also lead to permanent damage and chronic illnesses.
Iโm definitely going to keep including mushrooms in my meal plans each week. I find them filling and a great meat substitute ๐ช๐ป

Look what I found waiting to greet me as I finally got my bum in gear and got down to the polytunnel!!
These green beauties have been slowly building their root system through the darkness of winter and now with that spring energy, unfurling, twisting and bolting their way Sunwards (with barely any help from me but might add)!
Endive, purslane, winter spinach and coriander. All great fresh and vital goodness! So easy!

Back home and planning some batch cooking in preparation for Monday and Tuesday which are long work days for my family.
A little smile crosses my face as I rinse down these little beautiesโฆblack beans.
From a TCM point of view they support your Kidneys, your actual Organ and itโs energetic Channels.
It has a sweet flavour and brings a warmth to your body. It helps tonifiy your Blood and the Yin aspects of your system. This being your ability to rest and restore with ease while building your energy for the rest of your daily activities.
They also help move the fluids in your body reducing any tendency for oedema.
From a western perspective they have lots of fibre that is good for reducing your cholesterol, cleaning your bowels and feeding your microbiome.
They help your heart (folate and magnesium) and boost your energy through their iron content.
Iโm reducing my meat intake in order to do my bit for the planet. Iโll have these with rice to give me a complete meat free source of protein and add some veggies.
Itโs the little things that make a big difference in time.
