This came up on as a Facebook memory tonight. Singing at my sister Lilian's wedding 4 years ago.
I remember cringing at it back then, always feeling a bit embarrassed to sing out loud and proud ... feels cringy even writing that now!
But to be honest I love singing, more than anything else. I sang at my other sister Siobhan's wedding years before and I totally 'transcended' the room! Like I wasn't even there, I had entered another realm and I 'woke up' to see my Mom clapping so hard, she was so delighted I was actually singing! She was genuinely proud of me in that moment. It's one of the best memories I have with my Mother ❤️
Anyway, they call it a 'flow state' and it's real.. better than any drug I'm sure! It's meditation.
Anyway, thought I'd share, cause why not really.

I just want to say sincere THANK YOU to everyone who sent me beautiful birthday wishes, helped me celebrate and shared the laughter and the craic 🎉
I genuinely do feel the love and I'm grateful for it all ❤️ and of course to reach 50 and to be well is a 🎁 gift! I couldn't even imagine being 50 when I was that young girl playing monopoly with my siblings, but here I am!! Grateful and hopefully courageous and excited about what lies ahead 🙌🎉🫶

Two years alcohol free!! Can't believe that's me!
Or at least it was, until my birthday yesterday. I celebrated my 50th at a gorgeous event in the at an lunch, with and .ie 🩷
Met a load of great people, ate delicious food and I thought a glass of champagne on your 50th birthday seems like the right thing to do today .. right? 🥳
Seems my tolerance has gone out the window as I was seeing double after a few sips 😜 were there really that many people there?? Anyway, it was still delicious 😋 🥂
And I'll look forward to more this weekend celebrating 🎉

2016..... the year I turned 40. Had a big party.. cause why not.
I was a fashion buyer then, and that was fun. Posing with a hot fashion designer was a good idea. Posing with an off duty model was less so.
There was romance... sun holidays, a brutal eye infection.
Forgetting to put on sun screen to spend the day on a mountain meant a sizzling, swollen face.
Tinder was charming in 2016 too.
But best of all were days out with my Mom 🥰 I'd give anything for her to stick her tongue out at me now!
So apparently it's that time of year again...

I'm listening to Marty in the morning on on the most beautiful bright morning. The clocks have gone back and while I find that a bit tricky in the evening, this morning 🌅 at 6am it was worth it.
Marty is my go to when I can't face the regular hum drum media or I don't feel like a podcast. His cheesy jokes, dreamy arias and old time classics just make me feel peaceful in the morning 😊
Also, this song is a love song to a dog apparently, as a persons best friend. While Rex is certainly not my best friend after chewing my new adidas, he's not in the doghouse any more either for those who are asking 😜 🐶
