When I was doing these nails I wanted to try out two things: I wanted to test new Max base coat and top coat and see how the top coats behaved with pigment. And I was pleased with the result: the nails lasted longer than we anticipated, but unfortunately I didn’t get to see them until it was about 6 weeks in, so I’m guessing they lasted very well their intended 4 weeks wear.
And the second thing I wanted to try out is this deep crystal setting, when I first made a dent in the gel and then filled it in with sparkly gel and Swarovski crystals. I usually use an epoxy glue for crystal setting and they last very well, but in this case I used a base coat and it was my mistake to try something new and have it fail 😅 I’m going to continue using my glue 🤭 But at least the sparkly gel made it look like nothing happened 🤭

Yes they are beautiful and I wanted to show them off, but it was a one and done kind of design because it took me 3 hours (I think 😅). And I could only do it in gel, which you know I looooove ✌🏻😒✌🏻

I’m testing these wraps without any top coat, because they look cool like that and also I want to see what happens in a few days. He does have strong nails, so there shouldn’t really be a problem 😏

What I value the most in the nails I do and also when I have them done by someone:

- safety. Nail tools and files can transfer a lot of germs from clients to clients, so correct disinfection, sterilisation and use of disposable files in nail industry is a must for me.

- good shape. My nail education started from sculpting nail extensions and proper shaping has been engraved into my soul.

- good retention. To me nails aren’t really a picture canvas. I’m not very artistic and I get tired of designs on my hands too, so to me nails is a convenience. I want them to be done and forget about them until next month. They need to just be there, look nice and not bug me or my clients until the next appointment. That’s all 😄
So I take extra care to reduce the amount of breaks or lifts when working with my clients.

I have some new people on my page, so I would like to say hello to you and introduce myself 😃 first of all, welcome, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend.

I’m Kate (or Katia in Russian), I was born in Russia, but been living and working in Ireland since 2011.
I’ve been doing nails since 2009, and have teaching experience for a few years. I don’t teach at the moment, but thinking about getting back into it.

I chose this photo by to show you guys my real self. I may sometimes appear serious, but I’m actually just a big goofball 😄

I’m married and we have a cat called Mia. I love doggies too, my clients sometimes bring their dogs with, and that’s always a lot of fun. And we had a kitten called Dave a visitor once. 🥰

I work in a Business Park, in Tallaght, I turned a small office into a nail studio. You can check it out in my story highlights.

I take in new clients, and I book other nail techs as clients too. 😊

I’m not a very designy person, but I do love perfect shapes, clean lines and flawless application (as much as I can).
My main focus is aesthetics and safety. My clients trust me with their health, so I always use best quality products, sterile tools and disposable files to prevent any possible damage.

I mainly do two things: gel manicure (gel polish, biab, that stuff), and acrylic nails - refills and extensions. My superpower is acrylic french 😍.
