Teenage and young adult Acne is a broad term to describe clogged pores. Your pores can get clogged from a combination of dead skin cells, oil, and bacteria.
While acne can occur at any age, teens and young adults are more likely to get acne breakouts, thanks to an influx of hormones. This can feel overwhelming and experimenting with skin care, at any age, is a journey.
Mislead teens can start cocktailing irritating anti-acne products with equally irritating harsh ingredients.
They [could be] layering all these irritating products on top of each other, stripping back and destroying the skins barrier.
Although teens skin is quite hardy, they also get eczema, irritation, redness and peeling so choosing the right skincare can be confusing.
Choosing the right skincare is Key and having a routine to prevent scarring and damaging is vital.
Ingredients like Retinoids are safe for acne-prone teens and commonly used for getting rid of breakouts.
A thorough skin consultation and professional advice is the best place to start.

As we are coming to the end of Acne Awareness month I felt it was important to bring some awareness to this very common skin condition
~Acne is a VERY common skin condition affecting hundreds of millions of people across the globe, not only affecting teenagers it can develop at any stage in adult life.
~ Acne most commonly develops on the face, back and chest.
~There are many available options to improve any skin condition.
~Creating a personalised skin routine to combat your concerns is key, but not always will skincare be enough quite often people need laser, peels, prescriptions , supplements.
~Having realistic expectations is very important.
~And most importantly having consistency and patience with your skincare routine.
I like to take a holistic approach which treats the skin and body as a “whole”.
Starting with a detailed consultation we look at everything from your skin products, make up , lifestyle, diet , stress , exercise to environmental factors.
Only then can we determine a plan and get you on the right track.
I feel skin health relies on internal health, so diet and supplements are essential in transforming the health of the skin.
Skin treatments like peels and the LED light therapy help reduce inflammation and bacteria on the skin and from there micro needling and laser can help with scarring and skin texture.
Skin consultations are available online or in person for more information DM me

The lymphatic system tends to be stagnant, and needs to be moved often. As many of the body’s lymphatic vessels and nodes run just under the skin, regular dry body brushing can help stimulate the normal lymphatic flow within the body and improve the elimination of toxins and detoxify naturally
Dry body brushing is invigorating, stimulating and detoxifying.
Body brushing is one of the most effective ways to promote your lymphatic system helping your body metabolise toxins more quickly, discourage fluid retention which helps the appearance of cellulite.
Benefits of body brushing
Lymphatic support- aids in the removal of toxins and fluid. Invigorating movement’s with the brush will encourage the lymphatic system to move toxins more efficiently.
Exfoliation- the process of dry body brushing removes dead skin cells and oils from the skin surface leaving the skin smoother and having a more toned appearance.
Prevents ingrown hairs- body brushing increases cell turnover and with the removal of dead skin cells and oils from the skin and pores, this will prevent ingrown hairs and clogged pores from developing.
Especially good for people who wax or shave regularly.
Reduces the appearance of cellulite - dry body brushing increases circulation and aids in the detoxifying process of the skin and lymphatic system. Cellulite is fat fluid and toxins trapped in the connective tissue layer of the dermis , by increasing circulation with invigorating movements this will aid in the removal of excess fluid and toxins to the lymph nodes to be detoxed naturally thus improving the appearance of cellulite
How and when?
Before your shower grab your body brush , starting from your toes work up your body in long firm strokes , working towards the back of the legs and bum!
On the tummy work in a clockwise direction aiding the digestion
Continue up your the arms towards the heart.
Dry body brushing should never be rough or break the skin pick a body brush that has medium- soft bristles.

Dark Circles:
Dark circles under the eyes could mean a hidden problem: a liver problem.
This symptom has everything to do with a toxic, dehydrated liver creating toxicity in the blood. Where the skin is thin under the eyes, it gets dark because the blood flowing through is lacking oxygen and filled with poisons, both from present-day exposure and from the troublemakers we inherit.
Dark circles is a sign that your liver has struggled to stay in balance and protect you, holding back as many toxins as it could, but at a certain point became so strained that it was forced to let some of them go.
Toxic heavy metals and pesticides can create a long-term shadow under the eyes. What determines how severe under-eye circles are is hydration. Proper hydration on a daily basis can help clean
up toxic blood and improve dark circles.
Allergies can trigger dark circles too. When you have an allergic reaction, your body release histamines as a response to harmful bacteria. Histamines also cause your blood vessels to dilate and become more visible beneath your skin.
How to improve Dark Circles?
The best and permanent way to improve the appearance of dark circles is lifestyle changes such as increasing your daily water intake, taking celery juice daily, eating more fruits and vegetables and minimising your exposure to harmful chemicals and heavy metals.
Liver cleansing supplements such as Liver Rescue is by far my favourite as it contains many herbs to gentle cleanse and support the liver.
Topical products that help minimise the appearance of dark circles include eu - Refresh eye cream &
- Opti Crystals

👣 I am a member of the Reflexologist Association Ireland which means you can claim a percentage of the cost of the treatment from your health insurance company
Reflexology rests on the ancient Chinese belief in qi or “vital energy.” According to this belief, qi flows through each person. When the qi is blocked this can cause an imbalance in the body that leads to an illness. When an organ is under pressure or illness developing, calcium deposits/ toxins build up around this area and due to gravity these calcium deposits fall to pressure points on the feet where we can pick them up.
In Chinese medicine, different body parts correspond with different pressure points. Reflexologists use maps of these meridian points in the feet, hands, and ears to determine where they should apply pressure to help with almost every part of the body.
Some of the many benefits of Reflexology
* reduce stress and anxiety
* reduce pain
* boost their immune system
* get over colds and bacterial infections
* clear up sinus issues
* recover from back problems
* correct hormonal imbalances
* boost fertility
* helps regulate all gland functions
* improve digestion
* assist in the removal of waste and toxins
* ease arthritis pain
* treat nerve problems and numbness
