Delighted to share that the National Barbering Apprenticeship has now been validated by QQI.
This marks an important milestone for the barbering industry and reflects a significant level of collaboration across the sector.
It has been great to be involved in the development of this programme and to contribute to its progression alongside industry and education partners.
We are now working with Education and Training Boards nationwide as we prepare for the next phase.
Further updates will be shared soon.

We had two fantastic days at the peer review in the Athlone Springs Hotel, with the team from Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, Habic, as well as representatives from the barbering industry and educators. Working together, we had some engaging discussions on module development, calendar schedules, and programme outlines for the National Barbering Apprenticeship. It's shaping up to be a fantastic programme!

The Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme will be a new support for small businesses facing rising energy bills and will be available to businesses that are tax compliant and have experienced a significant increase in their natural gas and electricity costs.
While the operational details are being worked through and will be available soon, it is believed:
The scheme will operate by comparing the average unit price for the relevant bill period in 2022 with the average unit price in the corresponding reference period in 2021
If the increase is more than 50%, businesses will be eligible for support, entitling them to claim up to 40 percent of the amount of the increase in the bill.
The scheme is set to be capped at €10,000 per trade
