Follow these tips for maintaning hygiene and health of your nails, which in turn affect the overall health of your body.

1. Do not manipulate, cut, trim or push back the cuticle. Its an important barrier protecting your body from external irritants.

2. Make sure, every few days you have a nail polish free time. Do no reapply new layer of nail polish over the pre exisiting ones. Check the expiry dates of your nail cosmetics.

3. Make sure your salon, salon therapist, and the instruments they use are hygienic.

4. Avoid continuous hand washing and over use of soaps/detergents, sanitisers. Keep your hands and nails well moisturised.

5. Nail cosmetics should ideally not be used by children.

6. Always consult a doctor for your nail issues/diseases. Do not self treat.

Telogen Effluvium or diffuse hair loss is a condition where you start experiencing hair shedding, approximately >100 strands/ day.
