Diabetes doesn't show up overnight. It sends warnings for years. Through every organ in your body. And almost nobody explains what those warnings actually look like.

It starts when your cells stop listening to insulin. She knocks. They ignore her. So your pancreas sends more. Then more. Meanwhile, sugar sits in your bloodstream with nowhere to go.

Then the cascade begins.

Your fat cells overflow and start leaking inflammatory signals. Your liver gets jammed with fat and ships it into your bloodstream as cholesterol. Your blood vessels stiffen. Here's what most doctors never offer you: a simple formula to check if this is already happening. Ask for a fasting insulin and fasting glucose test. Multiply them. Divide by 405. That number is your HOMA-IR score. Under 1.0 is optimal. Over 3.0 means your body is likely already resistant. Most people have never been told this test exists.
