One of the things I am learned in my neuroscience in coaching class yesterday was the difference between empathy and compassion. Empathy lights up the pain centers in the brain, and compassion lights up the same pathways as love. Makes so much sense now!

What Neuroscience Can Teach Us About Compassion and Empathy Compassion and empathy are different; compassion leaves us with a sense of well-being, whereas empathy lights up the pain centers in our brains.
