RCFC NR II of NMPB, Ministry of Ayush, under the aegis of SKUAST Kashmir, , in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura Sopore, celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. The event highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Students, scholars, and staff actively participated, embracing the spirit of harmony and health. Medicinal Tree saplings were also distributed among the participants.

Theme: " Beat Plastic Pollution"
To mark this occasion, RCFC-NR II, under the aegis SKUAST KASHMIR, NMPB, Ministry of AYUSH, organized a ‘Clean Plastic’ drive at SKUAST-Kashmir and Govt. Higher secondary school M.H.pora KUPWARA. The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, scholars, and staff, all united in their commitment to creating a plastic-free campus and promoting sustainable practices.
This World Environment Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to the environment by pledging:
“One Nation, One Mission – End Plastic Pollution.”

Regional Cum Facilitation Centre (RCFC) Northern Region-II of National medicinal plants board, Ministry of AYUSH, GOI, under the aegis of SKUAST KASHMIR successfully organized a stakeholders' meet cm workshop in Town hall Kupwara, focusing on the theme: " Cultivation, Conservation and Entrepreneurship Development in Medicinal plants."
The event witnessed the presence of the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara as the Chief Guest. Besides Deputy commissioner Kupwara, Dean Faculty of Agriculture SKUAST KASHMIR, Additional deputy commissioner Kupwara, Chief Horticulture officer, District ayush officer and officers from other departments participated in the program. A comprehensive presentation on the cultivation, conservation, and value addition of medicinal plants was delivered by the Regional Director, RCFC, sparking interest among participants. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and other officers emphasized the immense potential of the medicinal plants sector in boosting livelihoods and promoting sustainable development. They encouraged farmers and students to explore cultivation and entrepreneurship opportunities in this field.An overwhelming participation of 300 farmers and students from various degree colleges highlighted the importance of medicinal plants in shaping a sustainable future and fostering entrepreneurship.

Regional Cum Facilitation Centre (RCFC) NR-II of National medicinal plants board, Ministry of AYUSH, GoI, under the aegis of SKUAST KASHMIR successfully concluded 7-day Skill Development Program on "Sustainable Collection, Propagation, and Nursery Techniques of Medicinal Plants for Conservation & Entrepreneurship Development" at RCFC NR II, FoA Wadura, SKUAST-Kashmir.
The training aimed to equip participants with practical skills in medicinal plant cultivation, sustainable harvesting, value addition, and nursery management. Experts from diverse fields delivered insightful sessions, covering topics ranging from scientific propagation techniques to market opportunities in medicinal plant-based entrepreneurship.
As part of the program, a one-day exposure visit to the Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-Kashmir, was also organized, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience in nursery techniques, sustainable collection methods, and conservation strategies. This visit provided a deeper understanding of forest-based medicinal plants and their role in ecological sustainability and rural livelihoods.
The program saw enthusiastic participation from officials of Horticulture and Forestry Departments, as well as students from various Degree Colleges. Participants appreciated the interactive learning sessions and practical demonstrations, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and field applications.
The program concluded with a call to promote sustainable medicinal plant cultivation as a viable economic opportunity, encouraging participants to apply their newfound knowledge for entrepreneurial ventures and conservation efforts.

7-day Skill Development Program on "Sustainable Collection, Propagation, and Nursery Techniques of Medicinal Plants for Conservation & Entrepreneurship Development" Kickstarted at FoA Wadura.
To promote sustainable medicinal plant conservation, nursery development and entrepreneurship, Regional Cum Facilitation Centre (RCFC) NR-II has initiated a 7-day Skill Development Program on "Sustainable Collection, Propagation, and Nursery Techniques of Medicinal Plants for Conservation & Entrepreneurship Development" at FoA Wadura w.e.f 3-9 Feb, 2025.The program was inaugurated by Chief Horticulture Officer, Baramulla, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Participants include officials from the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, and Forestry, along with students from various degree colleges. This initiative aims to equip participants with hands-on skills for sustainable medicinal plant conservation, nursery development and entrepreneurship in medicinal plant sector.This initiative will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between traditional knowledge and modern scientific approaches, ensuring sustainable utilization of medicinal plant resources.

Regional cm facilitation centre NR II under the aegis of SKUAST KASHMIR of national Medicinal Plants Board Ministry of AYUSH GOI Celebrated the spirit of 'Janjatiya Gaurav Divas' and organized a series of seminars at various locations of Kashmir including Government degree College Uri, Government degree College Bandipora and Government degree College Kupwara to honor and acknowledge the rich heritage, culture, and contributions of our tribal communities. It was an inspiring experience to come together, share knowledge, and deepen our understanding of the invaluable legacy that our indigenous communities have preserved over generations.
