I could’ve come back from Bali with seashells, fridge magnets, or those cliché woven bags (not gonna lie got some of that too)… but no. I came back with a glass of lychee iced tea tattooed on my arm. Bold? Maybe. Crazy? Probably. Worth it? Absolutely.

The thing is, this isn’t just a drink. It’s a moment bottled up in ink. A moment where laughter turned into conversations, where sarcasm melted into depth, and where I felt oddly safe letting my guard down. A moment that reminded me life isn’t always red and loud; sometimes it’s green, calm, and quietly healing.

The tattoo is still in that awkward stage—half healed, half scabbing, exactly like me figuring things out. And maybe that’s the beauty of it: healing doesn’t mean “done.” Healing means “becoming.” This glass on my arm is not an ending, it’s the beginning of something unusual. Sweet, sharp, with just enough bite, like lychee meeting tea, like fun meeting depth.

For the longest time, I thought my role in life was to give; attention, validation, love; without expecting it back. This trip flipped that script. This little glass tells me I can be whole without overcompensating, that I deserve smiles, comfort, and equal give&take. And maybe that’s why I chose to etch it here, forever.

So yeah, it’s a tattoo of a drink. But it’s also a story, a reminder, and a little inside joke with myself. Because sometimes the boldest ink isn’t about declaring love to the world - it’s about quietly declaring something to yourself.

At the end of the day, this little glass isn’t about ink or iced tea, it’s about remembering I’m allowed to heal, to grow, and to choose myself… And if that sounds too deep, (relax) it’s just me being loyal to my beverages.

It is my reminder that beginnings don’t need labels, they just need courage. And if that looks like iced tea on my arm… well, at least my life choices are hydrating 💛
