Cavities between teeth- what is the cause? 🧐

🥗 Fibrous food intake is great for health but it does get caught between our teeth.

🧷Most play "tug of war" using their nails, fingers, a piece of wood and some even pins and needles. Obviously they are not the tools to use.

🕳️ Food stuck causes white spots to appear between teeth which slowly progress to brown cavities ( holes) causing more food lodgement.

🛠️ Tools you should use to clean between teeth - floss ( a waxed thread), floss picks, interdental brush or a water flosser.

🩺👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️ Also visit your dentist periodically as prevention is always better than cure.

🦷🪥 Treatment done in this case is deep cavity filling with a tooth coloured material after layering it with protective material to save the nerve ( pulp).

Relapse Re-treatment using braces 😬

This patient had undergone orthodontic treatment and had a relapse in the first year post removal of the braces and was referred to us.

His concern was his overlapping front teeth so we retreated him using the traditional braces.

Causes for relapse: 👇
-Can be because the teeth were not stabilised in their new position long enough.

What you should do?📌
* Wear your retainers regularly for at least 9 months to a year.

Is it okay to undergo treatment again? 👍

* Yes , you can and it does make a difference. Corrections and better alignment is possible to do with Re-treatment.
