One Earth, One Health 🧘‍♂️🌏
Celebrating International Yoga Day with Lord Jagannath’s Art!

This year, my Yoginis and Yogis explored the beautiful theme "One Earth, One Health" by creating art inspired by Lord Jagannath. Through drawing, painting, stories, and discussions, they found how yoga, mindfulness, and caring for our planet are connected.

🎨 What They Learned

Unity & Connection: Children discussed and understood the round shape of Lord Jagannath's face symbolizes unity and completeness. Just like a circle has no beginning or end, showing that everything in life is connected—our health, nature, and the world around us. It also reminds us of balance and harmony, just like how we feel peaceful when everything works together.
Children learnt that everything in life is connected—our health, the Earth's health, and the entire Universe.

Colors & Their Meanings:

🖤 Black: Like the calm night sky, it teaches us to slow down, reflect, and stay peaceful. This calmness helps us make better choices for ourselves and the planet.

❤️🧡 Red & Orange: Symbolise energy and vitality, like the sun, which gives life to all living beings.

🤍 White: A symbol of purity and calmness, like moonlight that soothes our minds.

🌿 Nature-Friendly Art
Children learned about natural colours derived from minerals,plants, stones, coconut shells, charcoal, Conch Shell or chalk dust, green leaf, turmeric, clay, and flowers are used for painting. They understood how to create beauty while being kind to the planet.
They learned how small eco-friendly choices can make a big difference in caring for the Earth.

🚩 The Connection to RathaYatra

Yoginis/ Yogis learned about the RathaYatra, a festival where Lord Jagannath, along with his brother and sister, travels outside his temple in a grand chariot.

Inclusivity: The festival welcomes everyone, no matter who they are, showing that we are all part of one big family (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam).

Togetherness: This journey reminded the children of yoga's message—breaking barriers and bringing people together.

🕊️ Balance & Harmony
Through their activities, children learned that when we care for our health through yoga, we also promise to live in harmony with the Earth.
