The festival of Dusshera takes its origin from the word "Dasha Hara" a Sanskrit word which means removal of ten bad qualities within us:

*Amanavta - (Cruelty)
*Anyaaya - (Injustice)
*K**a vasana - (Lust)
*Krodha - (Anger)
*Lobha - (Greed)
*Mada - (Over Pride)
*Matsara - (Jealousy)
*Moha - (Attachment)
*Swartha - (Selfishness)
