Lohri is celebrated all over India(especially in Punjab) but has different names in different regions. This festival marks the end of winter and staring of spring season. In Punjab Dulla Bhatti saga is associated with this festival. Also new born babies and newly wed couples celebrate this festival with too much enthusiasm. At night people get together and dance around the bonfire and enjoy gachak and popcorn, til da bhooga and many more like moongphali, gur and rewri.
In Maharashtra it is known by the name Makar Sanskranti
In Tamil Nadu it is known by the name Pongal
In Gujrat it is known by the name Sankrant
In West Bengal it is known by the name Ganga Sagar Mela.
