What you’re seeing is the top layer of skin—or a crust after a controlled skin injury—being peeled off.
That doesn’t mean the pigmentation has been cured.🙅♀️
Here’s why.
First, Indian skin (types IV, V and VI) is more prone to healing with post-inflammatory pigmentation.
Just think of the dark mark left after a burn or an oil splash.
The same risk exists after aggressive treatments.
Second, melasma isn’t always just on the surface.
