Over the past month we have been talking about how a balanced diet is an essential step for a health revolution. However it is important to understand what makes a balanced diet. By merely avoiding junk food you cannot call your diet a balanced diet. A truly balanced diet has four major components, Namely carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and vitamins & minerals.
Carbohydrates:
Carbohydrates are one of our body’s primary sources of energy. Our body breaks down Carbohydrates to give us the energy we need to function throughout the day.
Proteins:
The component that the body needs to build muscle is protein. Without this component we would not be able to be as strong as we are. Since it is the sole component that goes to build muscles, we cannot skip it in our meals.
Vitamins & Minerals:
Vitamins and minerals are essential micronutrients that must be present in our diet to our body can function healthily without any issues.
Fats:
Our body is incapable of producing fats on its own, so it is important that we consume unsaturated fats. Despite the notions that we have about fats, Unsaturated fats in a limit are good for your body.
