Nursing is not just about caring -it's about curiosity, learning, and contributing to better healthcare through research.
Standing at Choithram Natralaya hospital, Indore- India, in front of the Indian journal of opthalmology publications, I am reminded of my growing passion for research and evidence- based practice.

Because pain doesn’t wait for the weather."
Stay safe out there my nurses👌.

Yes,a very sad truth.
They forget we are human too, so we are not immune to diseases. We are not made of steels, we bleed and break like every other human being.
When a nurse complain, there response will be like; " Really, so you too do fall sick?"
Let's talk about it over the weekend. Stay in touch here👌.

IT'S A NEW WEEK, NEW START!
This thought of self believe and investment just came into my mind.
💡 “Invest in yourself so you don’t have to fight for an equal share of the dividend tomorrow.”
In nursing.
In life pursuit.
In faith.
In growth.
📚 Learn something new.
💰 Invest using your own money in what you believe in.
💬 Speak your truth.
🤲 Protect your peace.
🕊️ Build your worth, even when no one is clapping for you.
Because when the time comes to reap the rewards…
Let it be said: You didn’t wait for the people to value/ believe you — you started by valuing/believing yourself.
Have a fruitful week ahead 👌!

🌙🕊️ Eid Mubarak from The Compassionate Nurse Deen 🕊️🌙
Today, we join our Muslim brothers and sisters — especially our devoted Muslim nurses and healthcare workers — in celebrating Eid al-Adha, a day of deep faith, selfless sacrifice, and unwavering devotion.
As you honor the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his obedience to Allah, may your hearts be filled with peace, your homes with joy, and your lives with blessings.
To every Muslim nurse working through the holiday with compassion and care — we see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you. Your sacrifice and service are acts of worship in themselves.
🕌 May this Eid bring healing, mercy, and unity to us all.
🕋 May your prayers be answered and your sacrifices accepted.
❤️ From The Compassionate Nurse Deen — we wish you and your families a beautiful and blessed Eid.
Eid Mubarak! 🌸🐑🕋

SATURDAY STORY TIME WITH COMPASSIONATE NURSE- DEEN 🇸🇱.
🩺 “I Stayed Late Again…” – A Nurse’s Wake-Up Call 💔
Story:
Last year, I worked with a nurse — let’s call her Amina — who was the heart of our unit. She always stayed late. Always helped. Always said “yes.”
When someone needed a shift covered, Amina stepped in.
When a patient was crashing, she was the first one there.
When new nurses needed guidance, she mentored with a smile.
But behind that smile… she was drowning.
One Wednesday night, after a brutal 14-hour shift, she got a call: her mom had been admitted to the ER — a hypertensive crisis. Amina had just clocked out, exhausted, but she turned back and stayed another 3 hours to stabilize a patient with no backup nurse.
When she finally got to her mother, it was too late. She had deteriorated quickly and passed before Amina arrived.
At the funeral, none of the nurses she helped showed up.
Her Nurse- incharge sent a cold message: “Sorry for your loss. Don’t forget to sign your unpaid leave form.”
Lesson:
That was the day Amina realized — you can give your whole soul to a system, but it will not bleed for you in return.
As nurses, we are taught to sacrifice. But we are not taught to protect our hearts.
That we are human before we are nurses.
💡 Saturday Wisdom for Nurses:
🧠 “The patient comes first,” but you come before the next shift.
💪 Boundaries don’t make you weak. They make you wise.
💙 Compassion is a gift — don’t pour it all out until your cup is empty.
Share this if you’ve ever felt like Amina. Let this be a wake-up call: You are worthy of rest, respect, and reciprocity.

"Cold-Blooded" Wisdom for the Warm-Hearted Nurse
As promised yesterday, my nursing related thought to the: "Why You Must Become Cold-Blooded (Even With Loved Ones)" — and no, it's not about becoming heartless. It's about becoming wise with your care, your time, your heart.
We nurses are taught to give without question, to care without limit. But here's the hard truth: you can drown trying to save someone who is perfectly capable of swimming.
A few truths that stayed with me I want us to discuss;
1. “Do not hand out swords to those who don’t know how to carry them.”
Not everyone deserves your trust, access, or emotional investment.
2. Your heart is not a public utility.
Your attention is not automatic. Your care is not an infinite resource.
You’re allowed to say no. You’re allowed to protect your peace.
3. Love must be earned—not assumed.
Real love doesn’t ask you to suffer in silence.
It doesn’t shrink you, silence your needs, or demand endless forgiveness without change.
4. Stop accepting emotional exploitation dressed as intimacy.
Manipulation can sound like “I need you.” But you need you too.
Let this be your reminder:
Kindness does not mean self-abandonment.
Compassion does not mean being consumed.
Healing others should never come at the cost of wounding yourself.
Be soft. But be smart.
Be loving. But be guarded.
You deserve to feel safe—even in love.

Far away from nursing i read a powerful essay summary today by Machiavelli: Why You Must Become Cold- Blooded (Even With Love Ones).
Learnt new but rare truths from it, maybe it will make sense to you.
Few among others;
1. "Do not hand out swords to those who don't know how to to carry them"
2. Your *heart* is not a public utility. Your *attention* is not a default setting. Your *care* is not a resource to be mined endlessly.
3. "Love must be earned not assumed."
4. "Stop accepting emotional exploitation dressed as intimacy."
5. "Real love does not ask you to suffer in silence. It does not require you to shrink, to apologize for having needs, or to continually forgive without change."
6. "When you offer your heart with terms, you risk giving it to those who see it's value only in convenience ".
Tomorrow or so will give a nursing thought about it. Because many a time we offer care for others having little or no time for our wellbeing🤞.

A blessed Tuesday y'all 🙏🙏🙏.

To all my fellow nurses:
It’s Monday. You’re tired. You’re human.
But you still show up with heart, courage, and compassion.
Today, someone’s life will be better because you cared.
Never forget how powerful your presence is.
You are deeply appreciated.
