BookMyShow the eponymous destination for online booking was founded by Ashish Hemrajani, Pariksh*t Dar and Rajesh Balpande. The firm started with the concept of online movie ticketing and soon expanded to online ticketing solutions for theatres, events, concerts and sports.
BookMyShow was invested in by Network18, which marked the company's first round of funding in 2007. In August 2012, Accel Partners invested USD 18 million and in June 2014, the company announced that it has raised USD 25 million from SAIF Partners. The recent investment leads to a leap in the company’s valuation from USD 58.3 million to USD166.6 million.

99Games
Founded in 2008 in Udupi, Karnataka, 99Games capitalised on the growing sector of ‘freemium’ games and launched a series of games. In 2013, the company got a contract from YRF Studios to make a game for Dhoom 3. Since then, 99Games has released games for other movies like Fan and Sultan.
Octro
Octro was founded in 2006 and today is among the country’s leading developers of mobile gaming platforms. By transforming some of India’s favourite pastimes into digital avatars, Octro has found vast success with its freemium games like Teen Patti, Indian Rummy and Tambola Housie.
Games2Win
A Mumbai-based startup that was founded in 2005. Games2Win offers in-game ad networks and social networks for games in addition to developing traditional mobile gaming platforms. From 2007 to 2013, Games2Win also raised $15 million in three rounds of funding from top VCs such as ICICI Venture and Nexus Venture Partners.
Nazara Technologies
Nazara Technologies has achieved a lot since its founding in 2000. Having made a name for itself with sports games, the startup first turned profitable in 2007 and a decade later raked in $10.3 million in profits.

Steadview Capital, Vy Capital lead Series D investment in UrbanClap
UrbanClap Technologies, a Delhi-based company that operates a home services marketplace, has raised $50 million (Rs 348 crore) in a Series D funding round led by Hong Kong-based hedge fund Steadview Capital and existing investor Vy Capital. The company will use this capital to get more customers and service partners on board. The company is also facilitating a secondary sale of stock options and shares worth about $4 million for its employees and early angel investors.

India seeks to ease biggest hurdle for factories with new policy

Prime Minister plans to unveil a long-awaited industrial policy soon to boost domestic manufacturing and accelerate economic growth before federal polls next year. Under the new plan, a company need not purchase land or equipment but could lease them on long-contract basis helping lower costs and cut down time on setting up operations.
