10 Tips for Breastfeeding a Crying Baby
(A crying baby can be hard to latch on. Here’s how to calm them and have a successful feed.)
1️⃣ Try to calm your baby before attempting to latch.
2️⃣ Try to soothe them with a gentle rock or a song.
3️⃣ Give them a pacifier for a minute or two to calm down.
4️⃣ Walk around the room or go to a different location.
5️⃣ Try skin-to-skin contact to help them relax.
6️⃣ Offer your pinky finger to help calm them down.
7️⃣ Don’t force the latch; be patient.
8️⃣ Wait for a yawn or a wide-open mouth.
9️⃣ Your baby may just be overstimulated and need a break.
