Job Title: System Administrator (Linux)

Clematis Software Technologies is looking to hire a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Installing and configuring software, hardware and networks
2. Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
3. Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure. Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
4. Will document all your work and communicate issues when they arise.
5. Ability to work alone and be an independent resource.
6. Manage network servers and technology tools
7. Set up accounts and workstations
8. Upgrade systems with new releases and models

Technical Skills

1. Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
2. Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
3. Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
4. Linux: (Centos, Ubuntu, Fedora) -Installation of LVM, User Management, Samba, NFS, NTP, FTP,
Apache, LAMP, Light HTTPD, Ngnix, Mysql, Mariadb, Troubleshooting, user management etc.
5. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
6. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
7. Excellent communication skills

Education:

BSc/BCA in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
