ഈഡിസ് ഈജിപ്റ്റി കൊതുകുകള്‍ പരത്തുന്ന ഡെങ്കൂ വൈറസ് മൂലമുണ്ടാകുന്ന രോഗമാണ് ഡെങ്കിപ്പനി. നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടില്‍ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന വരയന്‍ കൊതുകുകള്‍ അഥവാ പുലിക്കൊതുകുകളാണിവ. കെട്ടിക്കിടക്കുന്ന ശുദ്ധജലത്തിലാണ് ഇത്തരം കൊതുകുകള്‍ മുട്ടയിട്ടു വളരുന്നത്. പകല്‍ സമയത്ത് മാത്രം മനുഷ്യരെ കടിക്കുന്ന സ്വഭാവക്കാരാണ് ഇവ. ഇടവിട്ടുള്ള പനി പ്രത്യേകം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. ഏത് പനിയും പകര്‍ച്ച പനിയാകാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുള്ളതിനാല്‍ സ്വയം ചികിത്സിക്കാതെ തുടക്കത്തില്‍ തന്നെ ഡോക്ടറുടെ സഹായം തേടേണ്ടതാണ്.

*പകരുന്നതെങ്ങനെ
