That’s my lunch today. One of my favourite things really. Rani made the cheru payar thoran the way one of Amma’s helpers taught me. Cook whole moong. I don’t like it mushy. Crush together a handful of small onions and red chillies. Saute it all in some coconut oil and add grated coconut. Yumm yumm yumm. Kanji was made hot . Just pressure cook broken red matta rice. So so tasty this combo is. Ideally it should be paired with a coconut thogayal and some Pappadom. But for a work day lunch, I am keeping it simple. And hearty. And wholesome. And tasty.
