Meaning of Aum
• A (31) → Creation (beginning)
• U (3) → Preservation (continuity)
• M (7) → Dissolution (ending)
Together, they symbolize the cycle of life and existence.
How to chant Aum (simple method)
1. Sit comfortably with a straight spine.
2. Take a deep breath in.
3. As you exhale, chant slowly:
• “Aaa...” (open mouth, feel vibration in stomach)
• “Uuu...” (vibration moves to chest)
• “Mmm...” (close lips, vibration in head)
4. End with a mor Vt of silence
“Uuu...” (vibration moves to chest)
• “Mmm...” (close lips, vibration in head)
4. End with a moment of silence (very important r)
Duration ratio
• A:U: M=1: 1:2
• Example: 2 sec “A” + 2 sec “U” + 4
sec “M”
