Whip your skin into shape with the Retinol Sandwich Method! It's like a spa treatment for your face but with a delicious twist. Picture your skin as a sandwichβthe bread is your skincare routine, and the filling is retinol, the superhero ingredient. To make this sandwich, start with a hydrating moisturizer (the bottom slice of bread), then generously spread on the retinol goodness (the tasty filling). Finally, seal the deal with another moisturizing layer (the top slice of bread) to keep everything locked in.
Voila! Your skin will be left feeling nourished, rejuvenated, and totally sandwich-fied! π

Did you know, on average, you lose almost a standard bottle of water through your skin everyday?
π Read to find out more about TEWL
Also known as "insensible water loss", TEWL is when the water within your skin passively evaporates (or diffuses) into the environment outside of it because of the different levels of water on either side of the skin barrier.
The factors that influence TEWL are:
- Environment: High humidity has shown to reduce TEWL while warmer temperatures were shown to increase it.
- Age: According to studies, TEWL reduces as skin ages, which is possibly due to skin cells enlarging as proliferation slows, allowing less water to escape.
- Skin Barrier: If the skin barrier isn't functioning properly, TEWL can increase.
Increased levels of can also cause the appearance of rough texture, flakiness or persistent itchiness or tightness.
How can we reduce TEWL?
Just using a simple but effective moisturizer daily leads to reduced rates of TEWL for most people.

Well, well, well, aging! We can't escape it, can we? No matter how hard we try, we are all going to grow old eventually. But hey, looking our age? That's a whole other ballgame!
The truth is, some people look older than they actually are, and some people look younger. It's all in the genes, as they say. But that doesn't mean we should just sit back and let our genetics do all the work.
There are plenty of ways we can keep ourselves looking young and fresh-faced. We can eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, and protect our skin from the sun. And if all else fails, there's always makeup and skincare products to help us cheat a little!
So, while aging may be a fact of life, looking our age certainly isn't. With a little effort and a lot of self-care, we can all keep ourselves looking youthful and fabulous for years to come!

An investment worth π― returns
Real skin comes in a variety of colors and textures. It may be smooth, rough, dry, or oily, and can be affected by factors such as age, genetics, and lifestyle.
Now imagine this - you're about to hand over your business card to someone, and as you reach out, they take a good look at your hand. But instead of focusing on the card, they're drawn to your skin. They can't help but notice the dryness, the redness, and the fine lines. Oops, not a great first impression, right?
Well, that's because your skin is your business card! It's the first thing people notice about you, and it can say a lot about your health, hygiene, and even your confidence. So, it's essential to invest in it!

Here are my favorite 4 superpower acids that will help with around lips:
1. inhibits the melanin-producing enzyme tyrosinase to block pigment from forming. It helps lift existing pigment by exfoliating dead cells from the surface.
2. works by blocking the production of tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin synthesis. It also helps exfoliate skin and stimulate cell renewal, which is beneficial for removing existing pigmentation.
3. (Ascorbic Acid) interacts with copper to inhibit the melanin-stimulating enzyme tyrosinase, reducing the formation of pigment and encouraging a brighter, more even tone.
4. disperses pigment on skinβs surface by sloughing off dead cells. It also works to directly reduce melanin formation by inhibiting melanin production.

Post Inflammatory is basically a combination of skin inflammation and damaged skin barrier due to acne breakouts.
Some important points to remember while treating Post Inflammatory Erythema are as follows:
- Never pick, squeeze or touch your face
- Use sunscreen daily
- See an Esthetician and build a skincare routine

The number one skin concern for most people is always , also called , which disproportionately affects skin of color & texture. There are so many causes for this condition, but in order to effectively treat it we must understand the basics.
Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (as shown in the picture) is a form of hyperpigmentation that occurs after injury. This kind of following inflammation, such as acne vulgaris is highly common.
PIH presents itself as two forms: epidermal and dermal. Treatment differs between the two as epidermal PIH is much easier to resolve. If you suspect dermal PIH, see a dermatologist and/or opt for laser professional.
A word of caution~ Be cautious with lasers though because it can cause rebound hyperpigmentation (repigmentation) making your PIH problem far worse than you started with. Certain treatments, such as the beloved hydroquinone can cause repigmentation as well.

Think of your skincare routine as a prescription for healthy skin. Itβs your daily dose of minimizing fine lines, dark spots, sun damage, and getting rid of breakouts, etc. Therefore, treat your skincare as an investment and get clear glowing results.
An ideal routine should look like~
- Cleanse skin
- Use a toner to prep skin for serums
- Apply serum targeted for concerns
- Treat with a spot treatment (if necessary)
- Apply eye cream
- Moisturize
- Lastly, in the a.m. donβt forget the sunscreen as the last step!

Chemical exfoliators are gentle on the skin, while physical ones are relatively harsher.
Daily or frequent use of physical exfoliators would be too much for your skin to handle, no matter what skin type you have. Regular exfoliation with physical exfoliators also damages the skin barrier without giving it a chance to heal. Ideally, you should not exfoliate more than two or three times a week., whether it's chemical or physical exfoliation.
