Dear colleagues and friends,

We are happy and honored to invite you to Milan for the 16th Congress of the European Federation of Societies for Microsurgery, which will be held from May 9th to 11th, 2024. The congress will feature a rich program with all the latest advancements in the world of microsurgery.
More than 30 years ago, the EFSM was founded, and in 1992, the first Congress of our federation was held in Rome, organized by Professors Alain Gilbert and Giorgio Brunelli. Thirty years later, Italy once again represents the home of reconstructive microsurgery, hosting our Congress with an increased and more powerful Federation.
Milan, located in northern Italy, the capital of fashion and productivity, will be an exceptional host, offering you all the hospitality you deserve.
The motto of the Congress is "Rome 1992 – Milan 2024: More than 30 years of reconstructive microsurgery." This theme will allow us to explore all the innovations developing in our micro world: not only the classical topics of reconstructive surgery for head and neck, limbs, hand, trunk, and breast, but the congress will also address innovative microsurgery techniques for lymphatics, supermicrosurgery, tissue prefabrication, and the use of microvascularized grafts from cadavers.
Special emphasis will be placed on interactive discussions among experts on topical issues, with a dedicated segment for showcasing the best and worst cases and complications.
We hope the conference will have a large attendance, and we will draw up a top-level program, making the event dynamic, interactive, and international by involving the main societies of reconstructive microsurgeons not only from Europe but from all around the world.

The last in-person EFSM was held in Belgrade in 2018. After 6 years, we finally have the opportunity to meet again, and in addition to the EFSM scientific program, Milan has so much to offer… there is no reason to miss it!
