Dagli esordi al cinema con “Veloce come il vento” fino al successo internazionale di “The Undoing – Le verità non dette” accanto a Nicole Kidman e Hugh Grant, l’attrice bolognese ha costruito un percorso intenso e in continua evoluzione. Oggi torna con ruoli complessi come quello di “Elisabetta” ne “La lezione”, giovane avvocatessa chiamata a difendere un professore accusato di violenza sessuale.

Ironica e curiosa, Matilda osserva l’umanità per raccontarla: sul set “ruba” qualcosa da ogni incontro, dalla dolcezza di Valeria Golino al coraggio di essere se stessi dei colleghi più giovani, portando poi la stessa attenzione quando lavora con attori meno esperti.

E poi c’è la Matilda fuori dal set, capace di affrontare con ironia anche i momenti più surreali: come quando alla cerimonia di apertura delle Olimpiadi di Milano Cortina è stata scambiata per Mariah Carey. Su certe cose si deve ridere. L’ironia è il modo più elegante per dire anche le cose serie”.
