Facilitating this Shadow Work Course was one of the most challenging, inspiring, revealing, and humbling experiences of my life. Stretching me way beyond what I thought was possible, forcing myself to look within, step into deep connection, and develop a reverence for the courage it takes to meet the hidden parts of ourselves. Shadow work must be one of my absolute favorite healing processes due to its exploration and integration of the unconscious parts of the Self. Identifying denied emotions, hidden beliefs, and disowned traits act as a doorway to understanding one’s own secrets kept hidden in shame. Join me for this 6-week course in transforming inner conflict into self-awareness with self expression, community, somatic integration, and a little sparkle. I’ve been doing a lot of art therapy lately as I avoid the torture of post-grad school job hunting.
I’ve been wrestling with deep sadness and feelings of unworthiness as I continue to get rejected from institutions in hopes of finding employment.
I’ve been pretending that things are okay and that everything will work out in the end— bypassing the ominous fact that I need to be earning money in order to stay alive in this crazy world.

I’m reminded of an incredibly valuable lesson I learned at Vipassana and the Buddhist principle of impermanence. I won’t be jobless forever. I won’t be bored and stagnant my whole life.

During the waiting periods we make art.

I think it’s easy to confuse healthy rest/expression with avoidance and I’m doing my best to be honest with myself right now.

It is with a heavy heart that I release these magnificent crystal instruments to their rightful owner. And with that same heart I am filled with inspiration to pursue the avenue of vocal activation. Though my sound meditation practice is shifting drastically, I am thrilled to accept the challenge of vocalized healing and singing therapy. Thank you forever to Ron for letting me steward these bowls for the past two years. They served me well.
