Behold the wonder skin care ingredient known as Salicylic acid! You have probably heard of it and most likely used it in your skin care routine. However, how much do you know about Salicylic acid? 🤔

This post will help you get to understand the ingredient better. Salicylic acid can do wonders for your skin if used correctly.

• Please note that: Certain products pair it with other mild exfoliants such as the alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA's) i.e lactic or glycolic acid. The purpose of doing so is to give you a more smoother-looking skin.However, if they aren't paired with another exfoliant don't go mixing them together by yourself because they are pH dependent !

When it comes to acne, all forms have one thing in common: clogged pores. It’s the substances and underlying causes of clogged pores that differentiate inflamed acne from non-inflamed acne.

‼️Inflamed acne: it’s characterized by swelling, redness, and pores that are deeply clogged with bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells. The star ingredient for this is benzoyl peroxide that works by killing the p. acnes bacteria.‼️

💧Hydration is the absorption of water/moisture from the air and then infusing your cells with water to improve your skin’s ability to absorb moisture and nutrients.

🧴Moisturizing is about trapping and locking in the moisture to build your skin’s natural protective barrier. This will prevent any water loss and ensure that your skin remains soft and smooth.

If you have dry skin, that means your skin is lacking oil and it needs to be moisturized. And similarly if you have dehydrated skin, your skin lacks water and it needs to be hydrated.

👉🏾Hydration makes our skin feel supple, but it won’t stay supple if there is no moisturizer to protect that hydration from escaping. If hydration escapes, skin ends up dry and flaky. However, putting a moisturizer on dehydrated skin may visibly smooth it, but it will still be lacking that soft, bouncy feeling that comes from hydration.
