This is a campaign to ensure that girls do not miss a day of school because of menstruation.

The campaign addresses the lack of access to sanitary pads which prevents girls from attending school and participating in learning, or even worse.

Neglecting to wash hands after changing menstrual products can spread infections, such as hepatitis B and thrush. Studies have found that giving out sanitary pads to girls leads to a significant reduction in sexually transmitted infections and bacterial vaginosis.

Some cultures forbid discussion of menstruation openly and consider it dirty and shameful. Menstruation is a normal part of life. Instead of stigmatizing these women, let us support them.

Girls are forced to miss out on school (3-5 days) when they menstruate because they can’t afford sanitary towels during their period. The Pad up a Girl Campaign is aimed at providing free sanitary pad kits and training young women on how to use sanitary pads. In addition, they benefit from interactive educational sessions on puberty, menstruation, personal hygiene, sexual health, and STIs during each training.
