Tried retin/retinoids?

What happened when my skin met 1% retinol!

I applied it after a whole load of layers of moisturiser and toners as it has dimethicone.....clearly too potent for my skin! Currently on a serious TLC regimen.

On the plus side, my melasma is almost all gone! I am soooooo excited!!!

Have you guys tried The Ordinary 1% retinol? Thoughts?

I love scented shower gels but they always dry my skin so so badly, and if I do not oil my body I end up scratching until my skin breaks out.

I bought this VitaminE body cream on a whim and 2 jars later, I can say this is one time my impulsive buying has done me proud!

❤ That it honestly gives you 24hr moisturisation. This is the only product I have seen living up to this claim. I test it on my legs which suffer from eczema - I can go a couple of days without oiling and still using my drying shower gels.

❤ The scent. It is mild and does not hang around long enough to fight with my perfume.

❤ It is easy to apply and is easily absorbed.

❤ That it has worked on my daughter who has serious eczema. I do not have to make her body butters anymore as this works perfectly.

❤ The price! This is £3.49 and the normal version is £2.99 and you get a whole 475ml. How great is that!!! Superdrug always has offers for these so you can get them even cheaper.

😤 They are ALWAYS sold out at my local Superdrug so I always have to try my luck at the next town. That also tells you how popular this product is.

This is a must have product for me as it does what it says on the tin and the price is more than perfect!

Mascra woes!

Roughly 3 weeks ago I decided to try a new and chose this The Falsies Push Up Angel one because the looks different from what I am used to.

First use and my were looking really good - thicker, fuller,darker and longer.

The brush was not difficult to get used to but I found the mascara thicker than my normal one. It did cause clumping and because of the brush design it was not easy separating the lashes. Using a second coat seemed to make things worse.

I was going to grin and bear it till I finished the tube but a couple of days ago when I opened the tube I was hit by a really bad stench. You know that smell you get when you leave your wet costume in the bag for a few days? Yes....THAT bad smell.
No way was it going anywhere near my . I have binned it and will be trying something different.

I bought it . I am not sure if I got a bad tube or this is how this particula formulation acts normally after a few uses.

Over all not impressed at all.

Has any of you used this? What was your experience.

It is the first product that I have bought a back-up for as it has helped my skin sooooo much after each tretinoin encounter - I need a better retin-a...anyone with suggestions?

The interesting thing about this product is that it contains swiftlet nest extract. Swiftlets make their nests using saliva which solidifies to give it a solid structure. The saliva is said to contain EGF (Epidermal Growth Favtor) which stimulates cell growth.

Other ingredients include niacinamide which is a great anti-aging ingredient that also improves over all skin appearance.

Adenosine which is another anti-aging ingredient is included as allantoin which helps soften and soothe skin whilst also combating signs of aging.

The product is gel-like but quite light, easy to apply and fast absorbing. I use it after BHA and HA before moisturisers.
